zIntroduction

Congratulations! You have purchased one of our high-quality products. During production

this device was checked for quality and subject to a ﬁnal inspection. This ensures that your

device is working properly. It is possible that, in individual cases, there may be residual

water or lubricant on or in the device. This is not a defect or fault and is not a cause for

concern. Please familiarise yourself with the product before using it for the ﬁrst time. To do so, please

read through the following operating and safety instructions carefully. Only trained persons may start up

this product.

KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN!

zIntended use

The Parkside pond pump (hereafter referred to as “pump”) is designed for pumping water with a

temperature between 4 °C and 35 °C. The pump is not frost-resistant and must be protected against

frost. Possible applications are recirculating and pumping the water out of smaller ponds and aquariums,

creation of streams, where the water is being pumped from one reservoir into another reservoir at a

higher position or the operation of water ﬁlters. The device is only intended to pump water. The device

is not suitable for pumping dirty water with granular dirt or suspended particles or other liquids of any

type such as, for example, petrol, diesel, solvents, etc.

Keep these instructions in a safe place. Ensure you hand over all documentation when passing the

product on to anyone else. Any use that differs to the intended use as stated above is prohibited and

potentially dangerous. If there are individuals in the water, then the device must not be used. There is a

risk of electric shock. The operator or user is responsible for accidents or injury to other people or their

property. The manufacturer is not liable for any injury or damage resulting from improper use or incorrect

operation. This device is not suitable for commercial use. Commercial use will void the guarantee.

pump named in these operating instructions.

NOTE: The maximum pumping height and maximum water ﬂow per hour are speciﬁc values for the

pump. In reality these values may be reduced by the nozzle connector used and by using nozzles, hoses

and similar components which are connected to the pump. These type of connections increase the ﬂow

resistance of the water against which the pump has to work.

Changes to technical and visual aspects of the product may be made as part of future developments

without notice. Accordingly, no warranty is offered for the physical dimensions, information and

speciﬁcations in these operating instructions. The operating instructions cannot therefore be used as

the basis for asserting a legal claim.

zSafety instructions

 Before starting work, familiarise yourself with all operating elements,

in particular with the functions and mechanisms. If necessary ask

professional. Read and follow the operating instructions for the device.

 ATTENTION! If the mains cable is damaged or cut through,

unplug the mains plug immediately from the socket.

 ATTENTION! The surface of the pump may get warm during

operation! RISK OF BURNS!

 DANGER OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! If there are individuals

in the water, then the device must not be used. There is a risk of

electric shock.

 Only connect the device to a socket with RCD (Residual Current

Device) with a rated residual current of no more than 30 mA; fuse

of at least 6 Ampere.

 If the mains cable for this device becomes damaged, ensure that

the cable is replaced by the manufacturer, a customer service tech-

nician or other qualiﬁed person to avoid any possible hazards.

 This device may be used by children aged 8 years and above,

and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities,

or a lack of experience and/or knowledge, if they are supervised

or have been instructed in how to use the device safely and have

understood the dangers that may arise when using it. Do not allow

children to play with the device. Cleaning and maintenance work

must not be carried out by children, unless they are being supervised.

 Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with

the device.

 ATTENTION! Prevent the pump from running dry! Risk of

overheating! Risk of material damage! Electrical appliances must

not be disposed of in household waste.

 Follow the further instructions in the “Maintenance and cleaning”

chapter, as well as the “Storage” chapter.

CAUTION! HOW TO AVOID ACCIDENTS AND INJURIES:

 Individuals who are not familiar with the operating instructions

must not use the device. Local regulations may specify the minimum

age for the operating personnel.

 Wear sturdy shoes to protect against electric shock.

 Take appropriate measures to keep children away from the device

when it is running. There is a risk of injury.

 Do not operate the device near to ﬂammable liquids or gases.

Failure to do so risks causing a ﬁre or explosion.

 Keep the device in a dry location and out of the reach of children

when it is not being used.

CAUTION! HOW TO AVOID DAMAGE TO THE DEVICE

AND ANY HARM TO PERSONS THAT MAY RESULT FROM

SUCH DAMAGE:

 You must not pump aggressive, abrasive/grinding (e.g. sandwater),

corrosive, ﬂammable (e.g. automotive fuels) or explosive liquids,

saltwater, detergents and food stuffs. The temperature of the liquid

being pumped must not exceed 35 °C. Not complying with this

may cause damage to the device and expose the user to a risk of

injury.

 Do not work with damaged, incomplete devices or those which

have been modiﬁed without the approval of the manufacturer.

Before using the device, a specialist should carry out a check to

make sure that the electrical protective measures required are in

place.

 Supervise the device when it is being used, in order to identify in

good time if the pump is running dry. Failure to do so will void any

warranty and liability claims.

 Check the device regularly to make sure it is functioning properly.

 Do not carry or ﬁx the device using the mains cable or the hose.

 Protect the device from frost and running dry.

 Only use original accessories and do not carry out any modiﬁcations

to the device.

 Please read the instructions in the operating instructions on the

subject of “Maintenance and cleaning”. All additional measures

must be carried out by a qualiﬁed electrician. Always contact our

Service Centre if you need any repairs.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY:

CAUTION: How to avoid accidents and injuries from electric

shock:

 When operating the device, the mains plug must be freely accessible

once the device is installed.

 Before you start using your new pump, get it professionally

checked:

–Earthing, zeroeing, residual current protection circuit must meet

the safety regulations of the energy supply company and be

working perfectly,

–Protection of the electrical plug connections against moisture.

 If there is a risk of ﬂooding, mount the plug connections in an area

which cannot ﬂood.

RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK:

 Make sure that the mains voltage matches the speciﬁcations on the

type plate.

 Carry out the electrical installation in accordance with the national

regulations.

 Before each use, check the device mains cable and mains plug

for damage. Defective mains cables must not be repaired, instead

they must be replaced with new ones. Have any damage to your

device repaired by an authorised specialist.

 Do not use the mains cable to unplug the mains plug from the

socket. Protect the mains cable from heat, oil and sharp edges.

 Do not carry or ﬁx the device using the mains cable.

 Only use extension cables which are splashproof and intended for

outdoor use. Always fully unroll a cable reel before use. Check the

cable for damage.

 Unplug the mains plug from the socket before carrying out any

work on the device, if there are leaks in the water system and

when not being used.

 Extension cables must not have a smaller cross-section than rubber

hose lines marked with H07RN8-F. The cable length must be 10 m.

The strand cross section of the extension cable must be at least

2.5 mm².

ATTENTION! NOT SUITABLE FOR DRINKING WATER

zBefore using the device

 Prevent the pump from 1 running dry. Failure to do so will void any warranty and liability claims.

Ensure that the electrical connection is 230 V~ 50 Hz.

 Check that the electrical socket is in good condition and that it is sufﬁciently fused (at least 6 A,

RCD switch).

 Ensure there is no way that moisture or water can reach the mains connection. There is a risk of

electric shock.

NOTE: Ensure that the power cable forms a loop below the mains plug, in order to prevent water

running into the plug via the cable.

zUsing the device

 Check whether the position for the pump 1 is secure and ﬁx the pump 1 onto the supporting

surface before you use it. For smooth supporting surfaces, you can use the suction pads 3 on the

underside of the pump 1 to do this.

 Depending on the application, connect the right hose with the pump 1.

 Make sure that the hose connections are tight. If necessary, use hose clamps (not included in the

scope of delivery). Select either the 13 mm

or 16 mm

nozzle connector to ﬁt the hose diameter.

 Make sure that there are no air bubbles trapped in the hose. These would have a negative effect on

the power. To do this, lay the hose so that it ascends and avoid loops.

 Position the pump 1 fully below the surface of the water, ideally at least 10 cm under the water

level. Align the pump 1 so that it is as level and horizontal as possible.

 Do not place the pump 1 directly onto slimy or sandy surfaces. The ideal position is for it to be

raised, such as, for example, on a stone.

 Never use the pump 1 without the ﬁlter grille 5. This prevents the ingress of coarse dirt which

would damage the pump 1.

 By rotating the ﬁlter grille 5 you can regulate the ﬂow rate. Turning clockwise: less ﬂow; Turning

anti-clockwise: more ﬂow. (see Fig. C)

 In order to achieve the very best pumping results, the pump 1 must be positioned on a ﬂat surface.

 Only allow the pump 1 to operate when it is completely submersed in water.

 If you use the pump 1 in an ornamental pond, position the pump 1 in an area which is as free of

sand as possible.

NOTE: In order to achieve the maximum water ﬂow, you must keep the hoses as short as possible.

Also, as far as possible there should be no kinks and/or large height differences. Ideally, you should use

hoses with the largest possible diameter, in order to achieve the greatest possible water ﬂow rate.

zMaintenance and cleaning

 The pump 1 has been manufactured in a reliable, high-quality design, where the non-contact pump

wheel mechanism ensures a long period of operation. However the pump wheel unit

is susceptible

to contamination from the operating environment and must not be damaged.

CAUTION: In order to clean the pump 1 or carry out maintenance work, always disconnect it ﬁrst

by unplugging the mains plug 2 from the voltage supply. There is a risk of electric shock or risk of injury

through moving parts.

 Always keep the mains plug 2 dry, before you connect the pump 1 back to the mains power

socket. In case of doubt, please contact your electrical specialist.

 In order to clean the pump 1, remove the front cover 4 and the pump wheel unit 9. To lift off the

front cover 4 use a narrow ﬂat-blade screwdriver to help you, if necessary. The round cover of the

pump wheel unit 8 has a bayonet connector and can be undone by turning it anti-clockwise.

The pump wheel unit 9 will simply be pulled out forwards. Use a small, soft brush or a water jet to

remove any dirt which is stuck on.

CAUTION: The pump shaft cannot be removed. Re-assemble the pump 1 after cleaning by

following the instructions in reverse order.

 Monthly maintenance will increase the service life of the pump 1.

zTroubleshooting

If the pump 1 does not work, check the following:

1. Check that there is sufﬁcient water around the pump 1.

2. Check the residual current protection switch of your mains socket and use another socket to make

sure that the pump 1 is being properly supplied with power. NOTE: Always unplug the mains plug

from the socket 2 before you touch the pump 1.

3. If, when the pump is running, you can hear abnormal noises, check the pump wheel unit 9.

To do this, unscrew the nozzle connector 6 or 7 from the pump in order to obtain access to the

pump wheel. Rotate the pump wheel unit 9 to make sure that it is not broken or blocked. If there is a

crack or surface damage on the pump wheel unit 9, contact an authorised service point.

zStorage

 Keep the device clean and dry and out of the reach of children.

 Protect the device from frost.

 If you are not going to use the pump for a longer period of time, then you must clean the device

thoroughly after the last use and before using it again. Otherwise it may be difﬁcult to start the

device because of deposits or residues.

zInformation about recycling and disposal

DON’T THROW AWAY – RECYCLE!

According to European Directive 2012/19/EU, used electrical devices must be collected

separately for environmentally compatible recycling or recovery. Please return this device to an

approved waste management company or use your municipal waste collection service. Please ensure

you comply with local regulations. If you have any questions, please contact your local authority or

waste management company.

Please return this device, accessories and packaging to your local recycling depot. Do not

dispose of electrical appliances in household waste! This satisﬁes your legal obligations while

also making an important contribution to protecting the environment.

Please note the marking on the different packaging materials and separate them as necessary.

zWarranty conditions

The warranty period begins on the date of purchase. Please retain the original sales receipt.

This document is required as your proof of purchase.

Should this product show any defect in materials or manufacture within 3 years from the date of purchase,

we will repair or replace it – at our discretion – free of charge.

This warranty service requires that you retain proof of purchase (sales receipt) for the defective device for

zEinleitung

Herzlichen Glückwunsch! Sie haben sich für ein hochwertiges Produkt aus unserem Haus

entschieden. Dieses Gerät wurde während der Produktion auf Qualität geprüft und einer

Endkontrolle unterzogen. Die Funktionsfähigkeit Ihres Gerätes ist somit sichergestellt. Es ist

nicht auszuschließen, dass sich in Einzelfällen am oder im Gerät Restmengen von Wasser

oder Schmierstoffen beﬁnden. Dies ist kein Mangel oder Defekt und kein Grund zur Besorgnis. Machen

Sie sich vor der ersten Inbetriebnahme mit dem Produkt vertraut. Lesen Sie hierzu aufmerksam die

nachfolgende Bedienungsanleitung und die Sicherheitshinweise. Die Inbetriebnahme darf nur durch

unterwiesene Personen erfolgen.

zBestimmungsgemäße Verwendung

Die Parkside Teichpumpe (im Folgenden „Pumpe“ genannt) ist geeignet zur Förderung von Wasser mit

einer Temperatur zwischen 4 °C und 35 °C. Die Pumpe ist nicht frostsicher und muss vor Frost geschützt

werden. Mögliche Anwendungen sind das Um- und Auspumpen von kleineren Teichen und Aqua-

rien, die Darstellung von Bachläufen, bei denen Wasser von einem Reservoir in ein höher gelegenes

Reservoir gepumpt wird oder der Betrieb von Wasserﬁltern. Das Gerät ist ausschließlich zum Pumpen

von Wasser vorgesehen. Das Gerät ist nicht geeignet zum Pumpen von Schmutzwasser mit körnigen

Schmutz- oder Schwebepartikeln oder sonstigen Flüssigkeiten aller Art wie z.B. Benzin, Diesel, Lösungs-

mittel etc.

Bewahren Sie diese Anleitung gut auf. Händigen Sie alle Unterlagen bei Weitergabe des Produkts an

Dritte ebenfalls mit aus. Jegliche Anwendung, die von der bestimmungsgemäßen Verwendung abweicht,

ist untersagt und potentiell gefährlich. Beﬁnden sich Personen im Wasser, so darf das Gerät nicht be-

trieben werden. Es besteht Gefahr durch elektrischen Schlag. Der Bediener oder Nutzer ist für Unfälle

oder Schäden an anderen Menschen oder deren Eigentum verantwortlich. Der Hersteller haftet nicht für

Schäden, die durch bestimmungswidrigen Gebrauch oder falsche Bedienung verursacht wurden. Dieses

Gerät ist nicht zur gewerblichen Nutzung geeignet. Bei gewerblichem Einsatz erlischt die Garantie.

zAusstattung

HINWEIS: Überprüfen Sie unmittelbar nach dem Auspacken immer den Lieferumfang auf Vollstän-

digkeit sowie den einwandfreien Zustand der Teichpumpe. Benutzen Sie das Gerät nicht, wenn dieses

HINWEIS: Die maximale Förderhöhe sowie der maximale Wasserdurchﬂuss pro Stunde sind Kenn-

werte der Pumpe. In der Realität können diese Werte durch die verwendete Anschlussadapter-Düse und

durch die Verwendung von Düsen, Schläuchen und ähnlichen Bauteilen, die an die Pumpe angeschlos-

sen werden, reduziert werden. Derartige Anschlüsse erhöhen den Flusswiderstand des Wassers, gegen

den die Pumpe arbeiten muss.

Technische und optische Veränderungen können im Zuge der Weiterentwicklung ohne Ankündigung

vorgenommen werden. Alle Maße, Hinweise und Angaben dieser Betriebsanleitung sind deshalb ohne

Gewähr. Rechtsansprüche, die aufgrund der Betriebsanleitung gestellt werden, können daher nicht

geltend gemacht werden.

zSicherheitshinweise

 Machen Sie sich vor der Arbeit mit allen Bedienelementen gut ver-

traut, insbesondere mit Funktionen und Wirkungsweisen. Fragen

Sie ggf. eine Fachkraft. Lesen und beachten Sie die zum Gerät ge-

hörende Betriebsanleitung!

 ACHTUNG! Ziehen Sie bei Beschädigung oder Durchschneiden

der Netzanschlussleitung sofort den Netzstecker aus der Steckdose.

 ACHTUNG! Die Oberﬂäche der Pumpe kann sich im Betrieb

erwärmen! VERBRENNUNGSGEFAHR!

 STROMSCHLAGGEFAHR! Beﬁnden sich Personen im Was-

ser, so darf das Gerät nicht betrieben werden. Es besteht Gefahr

durch elektrischen Schlag.

 Schließen Sie das Gerät nur an eine Steckdose mit RCD (Residual

Current Device) mit einem Bemessungsfehlerstrom von nicht mehr

als 30 mA an; Sicherung mind. 6 Ampere.

 Wenn die Netzanschlussleitung dieses Gerätes beschädigt wird,

muss sie durch den Hersteller oder seinen Kundendienst, oder eine

ähnliche, qualiﬁzierte Person ersetzt werden, um Gefährdungen zu

vermeiden.

 Dieses Gerät kann von Kindern ab 8 Jahren sowie von Personen

mit reduzierten physischen, sensorischen oder mentalen Fähigkei-

ten oder Mangel an Erfahrung und/oder Wissen benutzt werden,

wenn sie beaufsichtigt oder bezüglich des sicheren Gebrauchs des

Gerätes unterwiesen wurden und die daraus resultierenden Gefah-

ren verstanden haben. Kinder dürfen nicht mit dem Gerät spielen.

Reinigung und Benutzer-Wartung dürfen nicht durch Kinder durch-

geführt werden, es sei denn sie werden beaufsichtigt.

 Kinder müssen beaufsichtigt werden, um sicherzustellen, dass sie

nicht mit dem Gerät spielen.

 ACHTUNG! Trockenlauf der Pumpe vermeiden! Überhitzungs-

gefahr! Gefahr von Sachbeschädigung! Elektrogeräte gehören

nicht in den Hausmüll.

 Beachten Sie die weiteren Hinweise im Kapitel „Wartung und Rei-

nigung“ sowie „Aufbewahrung“.

VORSICHT! SO VERMEIDEN SIE UNFÄLLE UND VERLET-

ZUNGEN:

 Personen, die mit der Betriebsanleitung nicht vertraut sind, dürfen

das Gerät nicht benutzen. Örtliche Bestimmungen können das Min-

destalter der Bedienungsperson festlegen.

 Tragen Sie zum Schutz gegen elektrischen Schlag festes Schuh-

werk.

 Ergreifen Sie geeignete Maßnahmen, um Kinder vom laufenden

Gerät fernzuhalten. Es besteht Verletzungsgefahr.

 Benutzen Sie das Gerät nicht in der Nähe von entzündbaren Flüs-

sigkeiten oder Gasen. Bei Nichtbeachtung besteht Brand- oder Ex-

plosionsgefahr.

 Bewahren Sie das Gerät an einem trockenen Ort und außerhalb

der Reichweite von Kindern auf, wenn es nicht verwendet wird.

VORSICHT! SO VERMEIDEN SIE GERÄTESCHÄDEN UND

EVENTUELL DARAUS RESULTIERENDE PERSONENSCHÄDEN:

 Die Förderung von aggressiven, abrasiven/schleifenden (z. B.

Sandwasser), ätzenden, brennbaren (z. B. Motorenkraftstoffe) oder

explosiven Flüssigkeiten, Salzwasser, Reinigungsmitteln und Lebens-

mitteln ist nicht gestattet. Die Temperatur der Förderﬂüssigkeit darf

35 °C nicht überschreiten. Eine Nichtbeachtung kann zu Schäden

am Gerät führen und eine Gefahr für den Benutzer darstellen.

 Arbeiten Sie nicht mit einem beschädigten, unvollständigen oder

ohne die Zustimmung des Herstellers umgebauten Gerät. Lassen

Sie vor Inbetriebnahme durch einen Fachmann prüfen, dass die ge-

forderten, elektrischen Schutzmaßnahmen vorhanden sind.

 Beaufsichtigen Sie das Gerät während des Betriebs, um Trocken-

laufen der Pumpe rechtzeitig zu erkennen. Bei Nichtbeachtung er-

löschen Garantie- und Haftungsansprüche.

 Prüfen Sie das Gerät regelmäßig auf einwandfreie Funktion.

 Tragen oder befestigen Sie das Gerät nicht an der Netzanschluss-

leitung oder am Schlauch.

 Schützen Sie das Gerät vor Frost und Trockenlaufen.

 Verwenden Sie nur Original-Zubehör und führen Sie keine Umbau-

ten am Gerät durch.

 Lesen Sie zum Thema „Wartung und Reinigung“ bitte die Hinweise

in der Betriebsanleitung. Alle darüberhinausgehenden Maßnah-

men sind von einer Elektrofachkraft auszuführen. Wenden Sie sich

im Reparaturfall immer an unser Service-Center.
