8. SOLVING PROBLEMS
If any problems occur during operation, you will nd the solution in the following table.
Problem Reason The Solution
The LCD display remains dark,
when plugging in the power
plug.
The power outlet is not live. Ensure that the appliance is connected to a suitable wall power outlet (see: ‘Important
Safeguards for Electrical Appliances’). Ensure that the wall power outlet is live by
connecting a lamp.
A severe problem occurred.
May be the power cord is
damaged.
Unplug the appliance. Get in contact with an authorised service centre for examination
and repair.
The appliance is live, but the
LCD display is dark.
The automatic shut-o of the
LCD display is active.
For saving energy, the backlight of the LCD display gets dark after approx. 20 seconds
without any input. This is normal. To illuminate the LCD display again for 20 seconds, press
the SET button.
The backlight of the LCD display
is out of order.
Get in contact with an authorised service centre for examination and repair.
A dehydration cycle has been
completed and the appliance
switched o automatically.
This is normal. Press the On/O button shortly, if you wish to start operation again (see:
‘Operation’).
The appliance does not react to
the adjusting dial.
The SET button has not been
pressed.
Always press the SET button, before attempting to change the temperature or
dehydrating time (see: ‘Operation’).
The appliance switched back to
standby already.
When the SET button has been pressed and no further entry is made, the appliance
switches back to standby and the value on the LCD display is not ashing any longer.
Press the SET button again and turn the adjusting dial within 5-6 seconds.
You reached the maximum or
minimum temperature already.
Therangeoftemperaturesettingsisfrom35°Cto70°C.
Turn the adjusting dial to the opposite direction.
A dehydration cycle is running. Temperature and dehydrating time cannot be adjusted, while a dehydration cycle is
running. Press the Start/ Stop button to pause the running dehydration cycle. Then try
again (see: ‘Operation / Pause Function’).
The appliance is working, but
the LCD display is dark.
The automatic shut-o of the
LCD display is active.
For saving energy, the backlight of the LCD display gets dark after approx. 20 seconds
without any input. This is normal. To illuminate the LCD display again for 20 seconds, press
the SET button.
The appliance is working
but the count-down of the
dehydrating time does not start.
The pre-heating time for
reaching the set temperature
may increase signicantly when
increasing the set temperature.
The count-down starts as soon as the set temperature is reached within the dehydration
chamber. The pre-heating time depends on the set temperature, the amount of food in
the dehydration chamber, and the room temperature. Just wait.
The environment temperature
is too low.
With a high setting of the dehydrating temperature and a very low room temperature, it is
possible that the set temperature is not reached at all. Possibly, with a room temperature
below21°C,youneedtocontrolthedehydrationprocessmanually.
The LCD display is illuminated,
but the food is not dried.
The temperature is set below
the current room temperature.
Selectasucientlyhigherdehydratingtemperature(see:‘Operation’).
The humidity of the
environment is very high.
The dehydration process depends on the humidity of the air-intake also. With high
humidity, you should expect an elongated dehydrating time. Increase the dehydrating
time, select a room with low humidity for operation, or select a somewhat higher
temperature.
The internal fuse of the
appliance has been triggered or
the heating element is broken.
Get in contact with an authorized service centre for examination and repair.
Thefoodisnotdriedsuciently
within the expected period of
time.
The pieces may be too large or
too thick.
Cut your food to smaller pieces.
The food trays have been
overloaded.
Separate the individual pieces of food. The air ow within the dehydration chamber may
not be blocked. If required, take out some food and separate your food to smaller portions.
The food has been too wet,
when starting operation.
Simply give the dehydration process some more time.
Wipe o any liquid that dripped onto the heating base.
Dab dry very juicy food, before dehydration. Perhaps, leave very wet pieces of food dry at
room temperature rst.
