Safety, performance, and dependability have

been given top priority in the design of your

line trimmer and brushcutter.

INTENDED USE

This line trimmer/brushcutter is intended to

be used only by adults who have read and

understood the instructions and warnings in

this manual and can be considered responsible

for their actions. This product is only intended

for use outdoors in a well ventilated area.

For safety reasons, the product must be

adequately controlled by using two-handed

operation.

When 

tted with the line trimmer head (and

appropriate guard), the product is intended

for cutting long grass, pulpy weed, and similar

vegetation at or about ground level. When

 tted with the Tri-Arc™ blade (and appropriate

guard), it can also cut bushes.

The cutting plane should be approximately

parallel to the ground surface. The product

should not be used to cut or trim hedges,

bushes, or other vegetation where the cutting

plane is not parallel to the ground surface.

WARNING

When using the product, the safety rules

must be followed. For your own safety

and that of bystanders, please read these

instructions before operating the product.

Please keep the instructions safe for later

use.

WARNING

The product is not intended to be used by

children or persons with reduced physical,

mental or sensory capabilities.

Children should be supervised to ensure

that they do not play with the appliance.

TRAINING

Ŷ Never allow children or people unfamiliar

with the instructions to use the product.

Ŷ Read the instructions carefully. Be familiar

with all controls and the proper use of the

product.

Ŷ Keep the area clear of all bystanders,

children and pets while trimming. Stop the

product if anyone enters the area.

Ŷ Never operate the product when you are

tired, ill or under the influence of alcohol,

drugs, or medicine.

Ŷ Use the product for cutting grass and

light weeds only. Do not use for any other

purpose.

Ŷ Keep in mind that the operator or user

is responsible for accidents or hazards

occurring to other people or their property.

PREPARATION

Ŷ Wear full eye and hearing protection while

operating the product. If working in an area

where there is a risk of falling objects, head

protection must be worn.

Ŷ Hearing protection may restrict the

operator’s ability to hear warning sounds

Ŷ Pay particular attention to potential hazards

around and inside the work area.

Ŷ Wear heavy long trousers, boots, and

gloves. Do not wear loose fitting clothing,

short trousers, jewellery of any kind, or use

with bare feet.

Ŷ Secure long hair so it is above shoulder

level to prevent entanglement in moving

parts.

Ŷ Before use and after any impact, check that

there are no damaged parts. A defective

switch or any part that is damaged or worn

should be properly repaired or replaced by

an authorised service facility.

Ŷ Make sure the cutting attachment is

properly installed and securely fastened.

Ŷ Never operate the product unless all

guards, deflectors and handles are properly

and securely attached.

Ŷ Consider the environment in which you are

working. Keep the working area free from

wires, sticks, stones and debris, which if

struck by the cutter, can become thrown

objects.

GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS

WARNING

Read all safety warnings and all

instructions. Failure to follow the warnings

and instructions may result in electric shock,

fire and/or serious injury.

Save all warnings and instructions for

future reference.

The term “power tool’’ in the warnings refers

to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or

battery-operated (cordless) power tool.

WORK AREA SAFETY

Ŷ Keep work area clean and well lit.

Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.

Ŷ Do not operate power tools in explosive

atmospheres, such as in the presence

of flammable liquids, gases or dust.

Power tools create sparks which may ignite

the dust or fumes.

Ŷ Keep children and bystanders away

while operating a power tool. Distractions

can cause you to lose control.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY

Ŷ Power tool plugs must match the outlet.

Never modify the plug in any way. Do

not use any adapter plugs with earthed

(grounded) power tools. Unmodified

plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk

of electric shock.

Ŷ Avoid body contact with earthed or

grounded surfaces, such as pipes,

radiators, ranges and refrigerators.

There is an increased risk of electric shock

if your body is earthed or grounded.

Ŷ Do not expose power tools to rain or wet

conditions. Water entering a power tool

will increase the risk of electric shock.

Ŷ Do not abuse the cord. Never use the

cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging

the power tool. Keep cord away from

heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts.

Damaged or entangled cords increase the

risk of electric shock.

Ŷ When operating a power tool outdoors,

use an extension cord suitable for

outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for

outdoor use reduces the risk of electric

shock.

Ŷ If operating a power tool in a damp

location is unavoidable, use a residual

current device (RCD) protected supply.

Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric

shock.

PERSONAL SAFETY

Ŷ Stay alert, watch what you are doing and

use common sense when operating a

power tool. Do not use a power tool while

you are tired or under the influence of

drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment

of inattention while operating power tools

may result in serious personal injury.

Ŷ Use personal protective equipment.

Always wear eye protection. Protective

equipment such as dust mask, non-skid

safety shoes, hard hat or hearing protection

used for appropriate conditions will reduce

personal injuries.

Ŷ Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure

the switch is in the off-position before

connecting to power source and/or

battery pack, picking up or carrying the

tool. Carrying power tools with your finger

on the switch or energising power tools that

have the switch on invites accidents.

Ŷ Remove any adjusting key or wrench

before turning the power tool on. A

wrench or a key left attached to a rotating

part of the power tool may result in personal

injury.

Ŷ Do not overreach. Keep proper

footing and balance at all times. This

enables better control of the power tool in

unexpected situations.

Ŷ Dress properly. Do not wear loose

clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair,

clothing and gloves away from moving

parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair

can be caught in moving parts.

Ŷ If devices are provided for the

connection of dust extraction and

collection facilities, ensure these are

connected and properly used. Use of

dust collection can reduce dust-related

hazards.

POWER TOOL USE AND CARE

Ŷ Do not force the power tool. Use the

correct power tool for your application.

The correct power tool will do the job

better and safer at the rate for which it was

designed.

Ŷ Do not use the power tool if the switch

does not turn it on and off. Any power

tool that cannot be controlled with the

switch is dangerous and must be repaired.

Ŷ Disconnect the plug from the power

source and/or the battery pack from

the power tool before making any

adjustments, changing accessories or

storing power tools. Such preventive

safety measures reduce the risk of starting

the power tool accidentally.

Ŷ Store idle power tools out of the reach

of children and do not allow persons

unfamiliar with the power tool or these

instructions to operate the power tool.

Power tools are dangerous in the hands of

untrained users.

Ŷ Maintain power tools. Check for

misalignment or binding of moving

parts, breakage of parts and any other

condition that may affect the power

tool’s operation. If damaged, have the

power tool repaired before use. Many

accidents are caused by poorly maintained

power tools.

Ŷ Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.

Properly maintained cutting tools with

sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind

and are easier to control.

Ŷ Use the power tool, accessories and

tool bits etc, in accordance with these

instructions, taking into account the

working conditions and the work to

be performed. Use of the power tool for

operations different from those intended

could result in a hazardous situation.

BATTERY TOOL USE AND CARE

Ŷ Recharge only with the charger

specified by the manufacturer. A charger

that is suitable for one type of battery pack

may create a risk of fire when used with

another battery pack.

Ŷ Use power tools only with specifically

designated battery packs. Use of any

other battery packs may create a risk of

injury and fire.

Ŷ When battery pack is not in use, keep

it away from other metal objects, like

paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws

or other small metal objects, that can

make a connection from one terminal

to another. Shorting the battery terminals

together may cause burns or a fire.

Ŷ Under abusive conditions, liquid may

be ejected from the battery; avoid

contact. If contact accidentally occurs,

flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes,

additionally seek medical help.

Ŷ Liquid ejected from the battery may

cause irritation or burns.

SERVICE

Ŷ Have your power tool serviced by a

qualified repair person using only

identical replacement parts. This will

ensure that safety of the power tool is

maintained.

WARNING

Inspection after dropping or other impacts:

Thoroughly inspect the product and identify

any problems or damage to it. Any par that

is damaged should be properly repaired or

replaced by an authorised service centre.

LINE TRIMMER SAFETY WARNINGS

Ŷ Some regions have regulations that restrict

the use of the product. Check with your

local authority for advice.

Ŷ Never allow children or people unfamiliar

with the instructions to use the product.

Ŷ Use the product in daylight or good artificial

light.

Ŷ Avoid using on wet grass.

Ŷ Do not walk backwards when using the

product.

Ŷ Keep firm footing and balance. Do not

overreach. Overreaching can result in loss

of balance. Always be sure of your footing

on slopes. Walk, never run.

Ŷ Do not operate the product when there is a

risk of lightning.

Ŷ Do not expose the product to rain or wet

conditions. Water entering an appliance

will increase the risk of electric shock.

Ŷ Keep bystanders, children and pets 15 m

away from the area of operation, stop the

product if anyone enters the area.

Ŷ Keep the cutting attachment below waist

level.

Ŷ Never operate the product with damaged

guards or without guards in place.

Never fit a metal replacement line.

Ŷ Keep hands and feet away from the

cutting means at all times, especially when

switching on the motor.

Ŷ Beware, the cutting elements continue to

rotate after the motor is switched off.

Ŷ Beware of objects thrown by the cutting

means. Clear debris like small stones,

gravel and other foreign objects from the

work area before starting operation. Wires

or string may become entangled with the

cutting means.

Ŷ Switch off and disconnect from the power

supply before:

Ŷ The small blade fitted to the lawn guard

is designed to trim the new extended line

to the correct length for safe and optimum

performance. It is very sharp; do not touch

it, particularly when cleaning the product.

Ŷ Always ensure that ventilation openings

are kept clear of debris.

Ŷ Make sure the cutting head attachment is

properly installed and securely fastened.

Ŷ Make sure all guards, deflectors and

handles are properly and securely

attached.

Ŷ Do not modify the product in any way. This

may increase the risk of injury to yourself

or others.

Ŷ Use only the manufacturer’s replacement

cutting line. Do not use any other cutting

attachment.

Ŷ Immediately switch off and disconnect

from the mains in the event of accident

or breakdown. Don’t operate the product

again until it has been fully checked by an

authorised service centre.

BRUSHCUTTER SAFETY WARNINGS

Ŷ In addition to the above rules, these

additional instructions are appropriate

when using the product in brushcutter

mode.

Ŷ Use heavy-duty gloves while installing or

removing blades, they have sharp edges.

Ŷ Do not attempt to touch or stop the blade

when it is rotating.

Ŷ A moving blade can cause severe injury.

Maintain proper control of the machine with

both hands until the blade has completely

stopped rotating.

Ŷ Replace any blade that has been damaged.

Always make sure blade is installed

correctly and securely fastened before

each use.

Ŷ Use only the manufacturer’s replacement

Tri-Arc blade. Do not use any other cutting

attachment.

Ŷ Never cut any material over 13 mm

diameter.

Ŷ Your brushcutter is fitted with a harness.

Carefully adjust the harness to fit

comfortably and help to support the weight

of the machine at your right side.

Ŷ Identify the Quick Release mechanism

and practice using it before you start using

the product. Its correct use may prevent

serious injury in case of an emergency

Never wear additional clothing over the

harness or otherwise that restrict access to

the quick release mechanism.

Ŷ Cover the blade with the blade protector

before storing the unit, or during

transportation. Always remove the blade

protector before using the unit. If not

removed, the blade protector could become

a thrown object as the blade begins to turn.

Ŷ Exercise extreme caution when using the

blade with this product. Blade thrust is the

reaction that may occur when the spinning

blade contacts anything it cannot cut. This

contact may cause the blade to stop for an

instant, and suddenly “thrust” the unit away

from the object that was hit. This reaction

can be violent enough to cause the

operator to lose control of the unit. Blade

thrust may occur without warning if the

blade snags, stalls, or binds. This is more

likely to occur in areas where it is difficult to

see the material being cut.

Ŷ For cutting ease and safety, approach the

weeds being cut from the right to the left.

In the event that an unexpected object or

woody stock is encountered, this practice

could minimize the blade thrust reaction.

Both hands must be used at all times to

control this product.

TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE

Ŷ

Stop the product and allow it to cool before

storing or transporting.

Ŷ Clean all foreign materials from the product.

If a cutting blade is fitted, cover it with the

blade protector.

Ŷ If a cutting blade is fitted, cover it with the

blade protector.

Ŷ For storage, always disconnect from power

supply and wind the cable. Store it in a

cool, dry and well-ventilated place that

is inaccessible to children. Keep away

from corrosive agents, such as garden

chemicals and de-icing salts. Do not store

outdoors.

Ŷ For transportation, secure the product

against movement or falling to prevent

injury to persons or damage to the product.

MAINTENANCE

WARNING

Use only original manufacturer’s

replacement parts, accessories, and

attachments. Failure to do so can cause

possible injury, poor performance, and may

void your warranty.

WARNING

Servicing requires extreme care and

knowledge and should be performed

only be a quali ed service technician. For

service, we suggest you bring the product

to your nearest authorised service centre for

repair. When servicing, use only identical

replacement parts.

Ŷ Switch off and remove battery back before

conducting any maintenance or cleaning

work.

Ŷ You may make adjustments and repairs

described here. For other repairs, contact

the authorised service agent.

Ŷ For the replacement line, use only nylon

filament line of the diameter described in

the specification table of this manual.

Ŷ After extending the new cutter line, always

return the product to its normal operating

position before starting.

Ŷ After each use, clean the product with a

soft dry cloth. Any part that is damaged

should be properly repaired or replaced by

an authorised service centre.

Ŷ Check all nuts, bolts, and screws at frequent

intervals for proper tightness to ensure the

product is in a safe working condition.

RESIDUAL RISKS

Even when the product is used as prescribed,

it is still impossible to completely eliminate

certain residual risk factors. The following

hazards may arise in use and the operator

should pay special attention to avoid the

following:

–– Injury caused by vibration. Hold the

product by designated handles and restrict

working time and exposure.

–– Injury caused by exposure to noise.

Wear hearing protection and limit exposure.

–– Injury caused by flying debris. Wear eye

protection at all times.

Contact with cutting means. Ensure that the

blade protectors are  tted when the machine

is not in use. Keep hands and feet away from

the blades at all times.

Kickback can occur when using the

brushcutter. Ensure proper control by using

both hands on the designated handles. Read

and follow the directions elsewhere in this

manual to help reduce the risk of kickback.

Risk of falling objects. During brush cutting,

wear head protection if there is any risk of

falling objects.

RISK REDUCTION

It has been reported that vibrations from

handheld products may contribute to a

condition called Raynaud’s Syndrome in

certain individuals. Symptoms may include

tingling, numbness, and blanching of the

 ngers, usually apparent upon exposure to

cold. Hereditary factors, exposure to cold

and dampness, diet, smoking, and work

practices are all thought to contribute to the

development of these symptoms. There are

measures that can be taken by the operator to

possibly reduce the effects of vibration:

Ŷ Keep your body warm in cold weather.

When operating the product, wear gloves

to keep the hands and wrists warm. It is

reported that cold weather is a major factor

contributing to Raynaud’s Syndrome.

Ŷ After each period of operation, exercise to

increase blood circulation.

Ŷ Take frequent work breaks. Limit the

amount of exposure per day.

If you experience any of the symptoms of this

condition, immediately discontinue use and

see your doctor about these symptoms.

WARNING

Injuries may be caused or aggravated by

prolonged use of a tool. When using any

tool for prolonged periods, ensure you take

regular breaks.

UTILISATION PRÉVUE

La tondeuse à  l/débroussailleuse doit être

utilisée seulement par des adultes ayant lu et

compris les instructions et les avertissements

inclus dans le présent manuel et pouvant être

considérés comme responsables de leurs

actes. Ce produit ne doit être utilisé qu'à

l'extérieur dans une zone bien ventilée. Pour

des raisons de sécurité, l'appareil doit être

manipulé de manière appropriée, en utilisant

les deux mains.

Le produit équipé de la tête de coupe à  l est

destiné à couper les herbes hautes, l'herbe

grasse et autres végétaux similaires au niveau

UTILISATION ET ENTRETIEN DES OUTILS

ÉLECTRIQUES

sont en permanence exemptes de débris.

est bien en place et bien serré.

CONSIGNES DE SÉCURITÉ DE LA DÉ-

BROUSSAILLEUSE

Ŷ En plus des consignes ci-dessus, ces

instructions supplémentaires doivent être

suivies lorsque l'appareil est utilisé en

mode débroussailleuse.

Ŷ Utilisez des gants résistants lors de

l'installation et du retrait des disques : leurs

arêtes sont tranchantes.

Ŷ N'essayez pas de toucher ou d'arrêter la

lame en mouvement.

Ŷ Un disque en mouvement peut entraîner

des blessures graves. Maintenez l'appareil

fermement sous contrôle, avec vos deux

mains, jusqu'à ce que le disque se soit

totalement arrêté de tourner.

Ŷ Remplacez toute lame endommagée.

Vérifiez toujours que la lame est bien

en place et bien serrée avant chaque

utilisation.

Ŷ N'utilisez que des lames de remplacement

Tri-Arc d'origine constructeur. N'utilisez

aucun autre accessoire de coupe.

Ŷ Ne coupez aucun matériau d'un diamètre

supérieur à 13mm.

Ŷ Votre débroussailleuse est équipée d'un

harnais. Ajustez soigneusement le harnais

de façon que le poids de la machine

soit confortablement supporté et que la

machine soit positionnée à votre côté droit.

Ŷ Repérez le mécanisme de libération rapide

et entraînez-vous à sa manipulation avant

de commencer à utiliser la machine. Son

utilisation correcte peut empêcher de graves

blessures en cas d'urgence. Ne portez

jamais aucun vêtement supplémentaire

par dessus le harnais qui serait susceptible

de gêner le fonctionnement du mécanisme

de libération rapide.

Ŷ Recouvrez la lame avec sa protection avant

de ranger l'appareil, ou au cours de son

transport. Retirez toujours le fourreau de

protection avant d'utiliser l'appareil. Si vous

ne le retirez pas, le carter de protection de

la lame il peut se transformer en projectile

lors de la mise en rotation de la lame.

Ŷ Soyez particulièrement attentif lorsque

vous utilisez la lame avec le produit. Le

rebond de la lame est la réaction qui peut

se produire lorsque la lame en rotation

entre en contact avec un élément qu'elle ne

peut pas couper. Ce contact peut entraîner

un brusque arrêt provisoire de la lame,

et "projeter" soudainement l'appareil en

direction inverse de l'élément heurté. Cette

réaction peut être assez violente pour que

l'utilisateur perde le contrôle de l'appareil.

Une projection de la lame survenir sans

prévenir si elle s'accroche, se bloque ou se

coince. Ceci est surtout susceptible de se

produire dans des zones où il est difficile

de voir les éléments en cours de coupe.

Ŷ Pour une coupe plus sûre et plus facile,

attaquez les herbes à couper de la droite

vers la gauche. En cas de contact inattendu

avec un objet ou une souche, la réaction de

rebond en sera minimisée. Utilisez toujours

vos deux mains pour contrôler ce produit.

TRANSPORT ET STOCKAGE

Ŷ

Arrêtez le produit et laissez-le refroidir

avant de le ranger ou de le transporter.

Ŷ Débarrassez l'appareil de tous les corps

étrangers.

Ŷ Recouvrez la lame avec sa protection

avant de ranger l'appareil, ou au cours de

son transport.

Ŷ Avant stockage, toujours débrancher

l'alimentation et enrouler la rallonge.

Rangez la en un endroit frais, sec et

correctement ventilé, hors de portée des

enfants. Ne la rangez pas à proximité

d'agents corrosifs tels que produits

chimiques de jardinage ou sels de dégel.

Ne rangez pas à l'extérieur.

Ŷ Pour le transport, attachez la machine pour

l'empêcher de bouger ou de tomber, afin

d'éviter toute blessure et tout dommage

matériel.

lorsque la lame en rotation entre en contact

avec un élément qu'elle ne peut pas couper.

Assurez-vous un maintien adapté de l'outil en

utilisant les poignées prévues, avec les deux

mains. Lisez et suivez les instructions de ce

manuel pour réduire le risque de retour de

RÉDUCTION DES RISQUES

Il a été reporté que les vibrations engendrées

par les outils à main peuvent contribuer à

l'apparition d'un état appelé le Syndrome

de Raynaud chez certaines personnes.

Les symptômes peuvent comprendre des

fourmillements, un engourdissement et

un blanchiment des doigts, généralement

par temps froid. Des facteurs héréditaires,

l'exposition au froid et à l'humidité, le régime

alimentaire, le tabagisme et les habitudes de

travail peuvent contribuer au développement

de ces symptômes. Certaines mesures

peuvent être prises par l'utilisateur pour aider

à réduire les effets des vibrations:

Ŷ Gardez votre corps au chaud par temps

froid. Lorsque vous utilisez le produit,

portez des gants afin de garder vos mains

et vos poignets au chaud. Le temps froid est

considéré comme un facteur contribuant

très largement à l'apparition du Syndrome

de Raynaud.

Ŷ Après chaque session de travail, pratiquez

des exercices qui favorisent la circulation

sanguine.

Ŷ Faites des pauses fréquentes. Limitez la

quantité d'exposition journalière.

Si vous ressentez l'un des symptômes associés

à ce syndrome, arrêtez immédiatement le

travail et consultez votre médecin pour lui en

faire part.
