1. PRECAUZIONI D’USO
Questi compressori non sono adatti al funzionamento in
ambiente esterno.
COSE DA FARE
• Il compressore deve essere utilizzato in ambienti idonei (ben aerati, con
temperatura ambiente compresa fra +5°C e +40°C) e mai in presenza di
polveri, acidi, vapori, gas esplosivi o inammabili.
• Mantenere sempre una distanza di sicurezza di almeno 4 metri tra il compressore
e la zona di lavoro.
• Eventuali colorazioni che possono comparire sulle protezioni paracinghia
del compressore durante le operazioni di verniciatura indicano una distanza
troppo ravvicinata.
• Inserirelaspinadelcavoelettricoinunapresaidoneaperforma,tensionee
frequenzaeconformeallenormativevigenti.
• Perleversionitrifasefaremontarelaspinadapersonaleconlaqualicadi
elettricista secondo normative locali. Controllare al primo avviamento che il
sensodirotazionesiacorrettoecorrispondaaquelloindicatodallafreccia
postasulparacinghia(versioniconprotezioneinplastica)osulmotore(versioni
conprotezioniinmetallo).
• Utilizzare prolunghe del cavo elettrico di lunghezza massima di 5 metri e con
sezione del cavo adeguata.
• Si sconsiglia l’uso di prolunghe diverse per lunghezza e sezione nonché
adattatori e prese multiple.
• Usare sempre e soltanto l’interruttore del pressostato per spegnere il
compressoreoppureutilizzandol’interruttoredelquadroelettrico,perimodelli
cheloprevedono.Nonspegnereilcompressorestaccandolapresaelettrica,
per evitare il riavvio con pressione nella testa.
• Usare sempre e solo la maniglia per spostare il compressore.
• Il compressore in funzione deve essere sistemato su un appoggio stabile e in
orizzontalepergarantireunacorrettalubricazione.
• Posizionare il compressore ad almeno 50 cm dal muro per permettere un ottimale
ricircolo di aria fresca e garantire un corretto raffreddamento.
COSE DA NON FARE
• Non dirigere mai il getto di aria verso persone, animali o verso il proprio
corpo(Utilizzareocchialiprotettiviperprotezionedegliocchidacorpiestranei
sollevatidalgetto).
• Nondirigeremaiilgettodiliquidispruzzatidautensilicollegatialcompressore
verso il compressore stesso.
• Nonusarel’apparecchioapiedinudioconmaniepiedibagnati.
• Non tirare il cavo di alimentazione per staccare la spina dalla presa o per
spostare il compressore.
• Non lasciare esposto l’apparecchio agli agenti atmosferici (pioggia, sole,
nebbia,neve).
• Non trasportare il compressore con il serbatoio in pressione.
• Non eseguire saldature o lavorazioni meccaniche sul serbatoio. In caso di difetti
o corrosioni occorre sostituirlo completamente.
• Nonpermetterel’usodelcompressoreapersoneinesperte.Tenerelontano
dall’areadilavorobambinieanimali.
• L’apparecchiononèdestinatoaessereusatodapersone(bambinicompresi)
lecuicapacitàsiche,sensorialiomentalisianoridotte,oppureconmancanza
diesperienzaodiconoscenza,amenocheesseabbianopotutobeneciare,
attraversol’intermediazionediunapersonaresponsabiledellalorosicurezza,
diunasorveglianzaodiistruzioniriguardantil’usodell’apparecchio.
• I bambini devono essere sorvegliati per sincerarsi che non giochino con
l’apparecchio.
• Nonposizionareoggettiinammabiliooggettiinnylonestoffavicinoe/osul
compressore.
• Nonpulirelamacchinaconliquidiinammabiliosolventi.Impiegaresolamente
un panno umido assicurandosi di avere scollegato la spina dalla presa elettrica.
• L’usodelcompressoreèstrettamentelegatoallacompressionedell’aria.Non
usare la macchina per nessun altro tipo di gas.
• L’ariacompressaprodottadaquestamacchinanonèutilizzabileincampo
farmaceutico,alimentareoospedalierosenondopoparticolaritrattamentie
non può essere utilizzata per riempire bombole da immersione.
• Nonutilizzareilcompressoresenzaprotezioni(paracinghia)e non toccare
le parti in movimento.
COSE DA SAPERE
• Questo compressore è costruito per funzionare con un rapporto di
intermittenza specicato sulla targhetta dati tecnici,(adesempioS3-50
signica5minutidilavoroe5minutidifermata)ondeevitareuneccessivo
surriscaldamento del motore elettrico. Nel caso si dovesse verificare
interverrebbe la protezione termica di cui il motore è dotato interrompendo
automaticamente la tensione quando la temperatura è troppo elevata per
eccessivo assorbimento di corrente.
• Per agevolare il riavvio della macchina è importante oltre alle operazioni
indicate intervenire sul pulsante del pressostato riportandolo nella
posizione spento e nuovamente su acceso (gg. 1a- 1b).
• Nelle versioni monofase occorre intervenire manualmente premendo il pulsante
diripristinopostosullascatolamorsettieradelmotore(g. 2).
• Nelleversionitrifaseèsufcienteinterveniremanualmentesulpulsantedel
pressostato,riportandolonellaposizioneacceso,oppureinterveniresulpulsante
deltermicocollocatodentrolacassettadelquadroelettrico(gg 3a-3b-3c).
• Le versioni monofase sono dotate di un pressostato dotato di una valvola di
scaricoariaachiusuraritardata(oppurediunavalvolapostasullavalvoladi
ritegno)chefacilital’avviamentodelmotoreepertantoènormaleaserbatoio
vuotol’uscitadiunsofod’ariadallamedesimaperqualchesecondo.
• Tutti i compressori sono dotati di una valvola di sicurezza che interviene in
caso di irregolare funzionamento del pressostato garantendo la sicurezza
dellamacchina(g. 4a-4b).
La valvola di sicurezza serve per evitare la sovrapressurizzazione dei serbatoi
d’aria.Questavalvolavienepreimpostatainfabbricaenonentrainfunzione
nchélapressionedelserbatoiononraggiungetalelivello.Nonregolareo
eliminarequestodispositivodisicurezza.
Eventualimodichedellavalvolapossonocausarelesionigravi.Seildispositivo
necessitadiassistenzaomanutenzione,rivolgersiauncentrodiassistenza
autorizzato.
• Tutti i compressori bistadio sono dotati di valvole di sicurezza sul collettore di
mandata aria al serbatoio e sul tubo di collegamento tra la bassa e alta pressione
postosullatesta.Esseintervengonoincasodimalfunzionamento(g. 5).
• La tacca rossa del manometro si riferisce alla pressione massima di esercizio
del serbatoio. Non si riferisce alla pressione regolata.
• Durantel’operazionedicollegamentodiunutensilepneumaticoaduntubodi
ariacompressaerogatadalcompressore,ètassatival’interruzionedelusso
d’ariainuscitadaltubostesso.
• L’utilizzo dell’aria compressa nei diversi usi previsti (gonaggio, utensili
pneumatici,verniciatura,lavaggiocondetergentisoloabaseacquosaecc.)
comporta la conoscenza ed il rispetto delle norme previste nei singoli casi.
• Vericarecheilconsumod'ariaelamassimapressionedieserciziodell'utensile
pneumatico e dei tubi di collegamento (conil compressore)da impiegare,
siano compatibili con la pressione impostata sul regolatore di pressione e con
laquantitàdiariaerogatadalcompressore.
• Itubiessibilidialimentazionedovrebberoesseredotatidiuncavodisicurezza
(ades.uncavodiacciaio)incasodipressionisuperioriai7bar.
2. AVVIAMENTO ED UTILIZZO
• Leruotefornitedevonoesseremontatesecondoquantoillustratonellegure19
e 20.Perleversioniconpiedissi,montaregliantivibrantiseprevisti(g. 21).
• Controllarelarispondenzadeidatiditargadelcompressoreconquellireali
dell’impiantoelettrico;siammetteunavariazioneditensionedi+/-10%rispetto
al valore nominale.
• Inserirelaspinadelcavodialimentazioneinunapresaidoneavericandoche
il pulsante del pressostato posto sul compressore sia nella posizione spento
“O”(OFF)(gg. 6a-6b-6c-6d).

• Intervenendo sull’interruttore del pressostato (oppure il selettore per le
versioni con quadro elettrico, gg. 6a-6b-6c-6d), il compressore si avvia
pompando aria ed immettendola attraverso il tubo di mandata nel serbatoio.
Nelleversionibistadiol’ariavieneaspiratanella canna delcilindrodettadi
bassapressioneeprecompressa.Vienequindiimmessa,attraversoiltubodi
ricircolo,nellacannadettadialtapressioneequindinelserbatoio.Questociclo
di lavoro permette il raggiungimento di pressioni più elevate e la disponibilità
diariaa11bar(15barpermacchinespeciali).
• Raggiuntoilmassimovaloredipressionediesercizio(impostatodalcostruttore
in fase di collaudo) il compressore si ferma scaricando l’aria in eccesso
presente nella testa e nel tubo mandata attraverso una valvola posta sotto il
pressostato(nelleversionistella/triangoloattraversounaelettrovalvolache
intervieneall’arrestodelmotore).
• Questopermetteilsuccessivoriavviofacilitatodallamancanzadipressionenella
testa.Utilizzandoariailcompressoreriparteautomaticamentequandoviene
raggiuntoilvaloreditaraturainferiore(2barcircatrasuperioreedinferiore).
• Èpossibilecontrollarelapressionepresenteall’internodelserbatoioattraverso
laletturadelmanometroacorredo(g. 4a-4b).
• Ilcompressorecontinuaafunzionareconquestocicloinautomaticonoa
quandononsiintervienesull’interruttoredelpressostato(odelselettoredel
quadroelettrico,gg. 6a-6b-6c-6d).Sesidesideraimpiegarenuovamenteil
compressore attendere almeno 10 secondi dal momento dello spegnimento
prima di riavviarlo.
• Nelleversioniconquadroelettricoilpressostatodeveesseresempresulla
posizione ACCESO I(ON).
• Nelle versioni tandem la centralina a corredo permette l’utilizzo di uno
solo dei due gruppi compressori (volendo con uso alternato) oppure tutti
e due contemporaneamente in funzione delle esigenze. In questo ultimo
caso l’avviamento saràleggermente differenziato per evitareun eccessivo
assorbimentodicorrenteallospunto(partenzatemporizzata).
• Soloicompressoricarrellatisonocorredatidiunriduttoredipressione(nelle
versioni a piedi ssi viene normalmente installato sulla linea di utilizzo).
Agendosulpomelloarubinettoaperto(tirandoloversol’altoeruotandoloin
sensoorarioperaumentarelapressioneeantiorarioperdiminuirla,g. 8)
èpossibileregolarelapressionedell’ariainmododaottimizzarel’usodegli
utensilipneumatici.Quandoèstatoimpostatoilvaloredesideratospingereil
pomello verso il basso per bloccarlo.
• Èpossibilevericareilvaloreimpostatoattraversoilmanometro(perleversioni
cheloprevedono,g. 9).
• Vericare che il consumo d’aria e la massima pressione di esercizio
dell’utensile pneumatico da impiegare siano compatibili con la pressione
impostata sul regolatore di pressione e con la quantità di aria erogata
dal compressore.
• Al termine del lavoro fermare la macchina, scollegare la spina elettrica e
svuotare il serbatoio.
3. MANUTENZIONE
• Laduratadellamacchinaècondizionatadallaqualitàdellamanutenzione.
• PRIMA DI QUALSIASI INTERVENTO COMMUTARE SU POSIZIONE “OFF” IL
PRESSOSTATO, DISINSERIRE LA SPINA E SVUOTARE COMPLETAMENTE
IL SERBATOIO.
• Controllare il serraggio di tutte le viti in particolare quelle della testa del
gruppo(g. 10).
Il controllo deve essere effettuato precedentemente al primo avviamento del
compressoreesuccessivamentealprimoutilizzointensivo,perripristinareil
valorecorrettodellacoppiadichiusuramodicatoinseguitoalledilatazioni
termiche.

4. CONSERVAZIONE
Staccarelaspinadallapresadicorrente,satarel’apparecchioetuttigliutensili
pneumatici ad esso collegato. Conservare il compressore in modo tale che non
possa essere messo in funzione da persone non autorizzate.
5. SMALTIMENTO
Il compressore deve essere smaltito seguendo gli adeguati canali previsti
dalle normative locali.
6. GARANZIA E RIPARAZIONE
In caso di merce difettosa o di necessità di parti di ricambio bisognerà rivolgersi

1. PRECAUTIONS
These compressors are not suitable for outdoor use.
THINGS TO DO
• The compressor must be used in a suitable environment (well ventilated
with an ambient temperature of between +5°C and +40°C) and never in
places affected by dust, acids, vapors, explosive or ammable gases.
• Always maintain a safety distance of at least 4 meters between the compressor
and the work area.
• Any coloring of the belt guards of the compressor during painting operations
indicates that the distance is too short.
• Inserttheplugoftheelectriccableinasocketofsuitableshape,voltageand
frequencycomplyingwithcurrentregulations.
• For3-phaseversions,havetheplugttedbyaqualiedelectricianaccording
tolocalregulations.Whenstartingthecompressorforthersttime,checkthe
correct direction of rotation and that this matches the direction indicated by
thearrowonthebeltguard(versionswithplasticprotection)oronthemotor

• Use extension cables with a maximum length of 5 meters and of suitable
cross-section.
• The use of extension cables of different length and also of adapters and multiple
sockets should be avoided.
• Always use the switch of the pressure switch to switch off the compressor
orusetheswitchoftheelectricpanelformodelsequippedwiththis.Never
switch off the compressor by pulling out the plug in order to avoid restart with
pressure in the head.
• Always use the handle to move the compressor.
• Whenoperating,thecompressormustbeplacedonastable,horizontalsurface
to guarantee correct lubrication.
• Position the compressor at least 50 cm from the wall to permit optimal circulation
of fresh air and to guarantee correct cooling.

• Never use the compressor without guards (belt guard) and never touch
moving parts.
THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW
• To avoid overheating of the electric motor, this compressor is designed
for intermittent operation as indicated on the dataplate(forexample,S3-
50means5minutesONand5minutesOFF).Inthecaseofoverheating,the
thermalcutoutofthemotortrips,automaticallycuttingoffthepowerwhenthe
temperatureistoohighduetoexcesscurrenttake-off.
• To facilitate machine restart, it is important not only to carry out the
operations indicated but also to set the button of the pressure switch,
returning this to the OFF position and then ON again (gures 1a-1b).
• Onsingle-phaseversions,presstheresetbuttonontheterminalboxofthe
motor(g. 2).
• On3-phaseversions,operatemanuallyonthebuttonofthepressureswitch,
returningthistotheONposition,orpressthebuttonofthethermalcutoutinside
theboxoftheelectricpanel(gures 3a-3b-3c).
• Thesingle-phaseversionsarettedwithapressureswitchequippedwitha
delayedclosingairventvalve(orwithavalvelocatedonthecheckvalve)that
facilitatesmotorstart-up;thereforeafew-secondjetofairfromthis,withthe
reservoirempty,istobeconsiderednormal.
• To guarantee machine safety, all the compressors are tted with a safety
valvethatisactivatedinthecaseoffailureofthepressureswitch(g. 4a-4b).
• Alltwo-stagecompressorsareequippedwithsafetyvalvesontheairdelivery
manifold to the reservoir and on the connection hose between the low
and high pressure located on the head. These are activated in the case of
malfunctioning(g. 5).
Thesafetyvalveissettoavoidover-pressurizationoftheairtanks.Thisvalveis
factorypre-setandwillnotfunctionunlesstankpressurereachesthispressure.
Do not attempt to adjust or eliminate this safety device.
Anyadjustmentstothisvalvecouldcauseseriousinjury.Ifthisdevicerequires
serviceormaintenance,seeanAuthorizedServiceCenter.
• The red notch on the pressure gauge refers to the maximum operating pressure
of the tank. It does not refer to the adjusted pressure.
• Whenconnectinganair-poweredtooltoahoseofcompressedairsupplied
bythecompressor,interruptionoftheowofairfromthehoseiscompulsory.
• Useofthecompressedairforthevariouspurposesenvisaged(ination,air-
poweredtools,painting,washingwithwater-baseddetergentsonly,etc.)requires
knowledge of and compliance with the rules established for each individual use.
• Please check that the air consumption and the maximum working pressure of
thepneumatictoolandconnectionpipes(withthecompressor)tobeused,
are compatible with the pressure set on the pressure regulator and with the
amount of air supplied by the compressor.
• Supply hoses atpressures above7 bar shouldbe equippedwith a safety
cable(e.g.awirerope).
2. START-UP AND USE
• Fitthesuppliedwheelsasshowningures19 and 20.Forversionswithxed
feet,assemblethevibration-dampersiffurnished(g. 21).
• Check for correspondence between the compressor plate data with the actual
specicationsoftheelectricalsystem.Avariationof±10%withrespectofthe
rated value is allowed.
• Insert the power plug in a suitable socket checking that the button of the
pressure switch located on the compressor is in the “O” (OFF) position
(gures 6a-6b-6c-6d).
• Forthe3-phaseversions,connecttheplugtoapanelprotectedbysuitablefuses.
• Fortheversionsttedwithelectricpanel(“Tandem”controlunitsordelta/star
starters)haveinstallationandconnections(tothemotor,tothepressureswitch

andtotheelectrovalveifany)carriedoutbyqualiedpersonnel.
• Check the oil level using the sight glass and if necessary unscrew the vent
plugandtopup.(gures 7a-7b).
• Atthispoint,thecompressorisreadyforuse.
• Operatingontheswitchofthepressureswitch(ortheselectorforversionswith
electricpanel),(gures 6a-6b-6c-6d),thecompressorstarts,pumpingairin
thereservoirthroughthedeliveryhose.On2-stageversions,airissuckedinto
theso-calledlowpressurecylinderlinerandprecompressed.Itisthenrouted,
throughtherecirculationhose,intotheso-calledhighpressurelinerandthen
intothereservoir.Withthisworkcycle,itispossibletoreachhigherpressure,
withavailabilityofairat11bar(15barforspecialmachines).
• Onreachingmaximumoperatingpressure(factory-setduringtesting),the
compressorstops,ventingtheexcessairpresentintheheadandinthedelivery
hosethroughavalvelocatedunderthepressureswitch(indelta/starversions,
throughanelectrovalvethatisactivatedwhenthemotorstops).
• The absence of pressure in the head facilitates subsequent restart.
When air is used, the compressor restarts automatically when the lower
calibration value is reached (approx. 2 bar between upper and lower).
The pressure inside the reservoir can be checked on the gauge provided
(g. 4a-4b).
• The compressor continues to operate automatically with this work cycle until
thepositionoftheswitchofthepressureswitch(oroftheselectoroftheelectric
panel)(gures 6a-6b-6c-6d)ismodied.Tousethecompressoragain,waitat
least 10 seconds after this has been switched off before restarting.
• Intheversionswithelectricpanel,thepressureswitchmustalwaysbealigned
with the I(ON)position.
• Intandemversions,thecontrolunitprovidedpermitsuseofonlyoneofthe
twocompressorgroups(ifnecessaryalternatively)orofbothatthesametime
accordingtorequirements.Inthissecondcase,start-upwillbedifferentiated
slightlytoavoidexcessivelyhighcurrenttake-offatstart-up(timedstarting).
• Onlythewheel-mountedcompressorsarettedwithapressurereducer(in
theversionswithxedfeet,itisusuallyinstalledontheuseline).Airpressure
canberegulatedinordertooptimizeuseofair-poweredtoolsoperatingonthe
knobwiththevalveopen(pullingitupandturningitinaclockwisedirection
toincreasepressureandcounterclockwisetoreducethis)(g. 8).Onceyou
havesetthevaluerequired,pushtheknobdowntolockit.
• Thevaluesetcanbecheckedonthegauge(forversionsequippedwiththis,g. 9).
• Please check that the air consumption and the maximum working pressure
of the pneumatic tool to be used are compatible with the pressure set on the
pressure regulator and with the amount of air supplied by the compressor.
• When you havenished working, stop the machine,pull out the plug and
empty the reservoir.
3. MAINTENANCE
• Theservicelifeofthemachinedependsonmaintenancequality.
• PRIOR TO ANY OPERATION SET THE PRESSURE SWITCH TO THE
OFF POSITION, PULL OUT THE PLUG AND COMPLETELY DRAIN THE
RESERVOIR.
• Checkthatallscrews(inparticularthoseoftheheadoftheunit)aretightly
drawnup(g. 10).
Thecontrolmustbeperformedbeforetherststart-upofthecompressorand
subsequentlybeforetherstintensiveuseinordertorestorethecorrectclosing
torquevaluemodiedasaresultofheatexpansion.

• Cleanthesuctionlteraccordingtothetypeofenvironmentandinanycaseat
leastevery100hours.Ifnecessary,replacethelter(acloggedlterimpairs
efciencywhileaninefcientltercausesharsherwearonthecompressor
(gures 11a - 11b-11c-11d).
• Changetheoilaftertherst100hoursofoperationandsubsequentlyevery
300 hours. Check the oil level periodically.
• Use SAE 40.(Forcoldclimates,SAE 20isrecommended).Nevermixdifferent
gradeoils.Iftheoilchangescolor(whitish=presenceofwater;dark=overheated),
it is good practice to replace the oil immediately.
• Aftertoppingup,tightentheplug(g. 12)makingsurethattherearenoleaks
duringuse.Onceaweek,checktheoilleveltoassurelubricationintime(g. 7a).
• Periodically (or after completing work if for more than an hour), drain the
condensatethatformsinsidethereservoirduetothehumidityintheair(g.
13a-13b)inordertoprotectthereservoirfromrustandsoasnottorestrict
its capacity.
• Periodically,checkthetensionofthebeltswhichmusthaveaexion(f)of
around1cm(g. 14).

4. STORAGE
Pull the mains plug out of the socket and ventilate the appliance and all
connected pneumatic tools. Switch off the compressor and make sure that it is
secured in such a way that it cannot be started up again by any unauthorized
person.
5. DISPOSAL
The compressor must be disposed in conformity with the methods
provided for by local regulations.
