CAUTION!
1. Read all instructions thoroughly prior to installation and use of the universal hoist.
2. Before drilling and installing universal hoist hardware, be sure that no electrical, gas, water or other obstructi-
ons will be interfered or damaged.
NOTE: Drilling into electrical or gas lines can result in serious injury death and/or fire. If unsure of the exact
location of these obstructions. Seek professional assistance.
3. Do not install over personnel, work areas, and/or walkways.
4. Before installing, verify that the structure where the hoist will be installed will adequately support the hoist and
the total load of the items to be lifted. If unsure, seek professional assistance.
5. The universal hoist is designed for indoor use (garage, storage shed, barn, etc.).
6. When installed properly, The universal hoist has a 52 kg max. load capacity. Overloading the universal hoist
may result in personal injury or property damage.
7. The universal hoist is designed to lift one bike only. Remove all content within the bike before lifting.
8. Do not hang additional weight into/onto lifted bike.
9. Never lift the bike with any persons or animals on board.
10. Do not install the universal hoist in locations where human traffic will occur.
11. Before lifting:
a. Be sure that the total weight to be lifted does not exceed the 52 kg max. load capacity.
b. Be sure the weight of the load is evenly distributed between both lifting hooks.
c. Verify that no person and/or animals are under or near the lifted load.
d. Verify that the lifting hooks are fully attached to the load and/or accessory straps and the hooks cannot beco-
me disengaged.
e. Perform visual check of the universal hoist to ensure it is
firmly attached to the ceiling.
f. Perform visual check of the rope. DO NOT USE if the rope
shows signs of wear or misuse. Replace rope at first signs of
wear.
INSTALLATION OF THE universal hoist:
1. Selecting a suitable site for installing the universal hoist:
a. Select a site where the universal hoist can be installed into
a solid wood structure (ceiling joist). The structure must be 2"
x 4" (5cm x 10cm) or larger.
b. Select an area with sufficient wall clearance. Measure the
distance from the center of the bike to
the side of the bike and add 5" (13cm)
for clearance of the side wall.
c. Make sure that the area selected
does not obstruct electrical outlets,
garage door openers, etc.
2. The hook pulley assemblies should
be mounted apart approximately two
thirds the length of the bike (See A &
B). For example: when hanging a nine
foot bike the assemblies should be
approximately 6' (1.8m).apart, when
hanging a twelve foot bike the assem-
blies should be approximately 8'
