Für einen kompletten Führungswagen

FW 20 werden ein Grundgerät und ein

Anbausatz zusammengeführt.

Die gesamte Gebrauchsanleitung für

den Führungswagen FW 20 setzt sich

deshalb aus 2 Gebrauchsanleitungen –

Grundgerät FW 20 und Anbausatz

FW-TS – zusammen.

Immer beide Gebrauchsanleitungen vor

der ersten Inbetriebnahme aufmerksam

lesen und für späteren Gebrauch sicher

aufbewahren.

Zusätzlich die Gebrauchsanleitung des

verwendeten Trennschleifers beachten.

Trennschleifer und FW 20 nur an

Personen weitergeben oder ausleihen,

die mit diesem Modell und seiner

Handhabung vertraut sind – stets die

Gebrauchsanleitung mitgeben.

Wer zum ersten Mal mit dem

Trennschleifer und Führungswagen

arbeitet: Vom Verkäufer oder einem

anderen Fachkundigen erklären lassen,

wie man damit sicher umgeht – oder an

einem Fachlehrgang teilnehmen.

WARNUNG

Minderjährige dürfen nicht mit dem

Trennschleifer und dem FW 20 arbeiten.

Kinder, Zuschauer und Tiere fern halten!

Den Trennschleifer niemals

unbeaufsichtigt laufen lassen.

WARNUNG

Keine Änderungen am Gerät

vornehmen – die Sicherheit kann

dadurch gefährdet werden. Für

Personen- und Sachschäden, die bei

der Verwendung nicht zugelassener

Anbaugeräte auftreten, schließt STIHL

jede Haftung aus. Auch wenn

bestimmte, nicht zugelassene

Anbaugeräte mit dem Trennschleifer

und dem FW 20 verwendbar sind, kann

ihre Benutzung sehr gefährlich sein.

Trennschleifer montieren

WARNUNG

Für den Anbau an den FW 20 nur den

zum jeweiligen Trennschleifer

zugehörigen Anbausatz verwenden. Der

Anbau von anderen Trennschleifern ist

nicht zulässig – Unfallgefahr durch

Brechen der Trennschleifscheibe nach

Kontrollverlust!

Beim Zusammenbau den

entsprechenden Abschnitt der

Gebrauchsanleitungen beachten.

FW 20 und Trennschleifer vor und nach

dem Anbau auf betriebssicheren

Zustand prüfen. Funktion der

Bedienungselemente (z. B.

Gasbetätigung, Schnitttiefenverstellung)

prüfen – entsprechende Kapitel in den

Gebrauchsanleitungen beachten.

Tanken

Zum Betanken des auf dem FW 20

montierten Trennschleifers muss der

FW 20 kippsicher stehen und gegen

Wegrollen gesichert sein.

Während der Arbeit

Gegenstände aus dem Schnittweg

entfernen, da diese die Schleifscheibe

verkanten können. Dies könnte zu

hohen Reibungskräften führen und

Wird der FW 20 über Gegenstände

geschoben, kann die

Trennschleifscheibe im Schnitt

verkanten – Bruchgefahr! Arbeitsbereich

freiräumen.

WARNUNG

Der Gebrauch des Gerätes kann Staub,

Dunst und Dämpfe erzeugen, die

chemische Stoffe enthalten können, von

denen bekannt ist, dass sie ernsthafte

Verletzungen oder Krankheiten

verursachen können. Staub, Dunst und

Dämpfe sind wenn möglich am

Entstehungsort zu vermeiden. Ein

Wasseranschluss ist für den FW 20 und

den Trennschleifer verfügbar und sollte

zur Staubbindung genutzt werden, wenn

Nassschneiden möglich ist. Wenn das

Einatmen giftiger Stäube, Dünste und

Dämpfe nicht vermieden werden kann,

sollten der Benutzer und alle

Umstehenden stets einen von NIOSH /

MSHA für das zu schneidende Material

zugelassenen Atemschutz tragen.

Sicherheitshinweise über Stäube,

Dünste und Dämpfe auch in der

Gebrauchsanleitung des

Trennschleifers beachten.

Führungswagen in Arbeitsposition

Entriegelung mit Kombischlüssel nur bei

ausgeschaltetem Motor vornehmen –

heißen Schalldämpfer nicht berühren.

Anschlag einstellen

N Kontermutter (1) lösen und

Schraube (2) bis zur

Maximalposition herausdrehen

Mit der Schnitttiefenverstellung die

gewünschte maximale Schnitttiefe

einstellen.

N Schraube (2) bis zur Anlage am

Schwenkarm (3) eindrehen und mit

Kontermutter (1) sichern

Bei jedem Absenken mit der

Schnitttiefenverstellung auf den

Anschlag wird die gleiche Schnitttiefe

erreicht.

Gasbetätigung

Motor starten siehe "Motor

starten / abstellen" in der

Gebrauchsanleitung des

Trennschleifers.

Die Gasbetätigung erfolgt nicht über den

Handgriff am Trennschleifer, sondern

über die Gasbetätigung am

Führungsrohr.

N dazu Sperrknopf (1) eindrücken und

halten

N Gasbetätigung (2) bis zur Anlage

am Führungsrohr ziehen –

Vollgasstellung

Die Drehzahl des Trennschleifers ist

abhängig vom Abstand der

Gasbetätigung zum Führungsrohr.

Wird die Gasbetätigung ganz

losgelassen (Leerlaufstellung), muss

vor erneutem Gasgeben der Sperrknopf

eingedrückt werden.

N Führungsrohr nach unten drücken

und Schnitttiefenverstellung

entriegeln

N Führungswagen langsam ablassen,

bis die Trennschleifscheibe den

Boden berührt

N Rad des Schwenkarms vorsichtig

anheben – die Trennschleifscheibe

und die Hinterräder berühren den

N Schnitttiefenverstellung verriegeln

N Trennschleifscheibe und

Führungswagen auf eine gerade

Linie (Markierung) ausrichten und

den Führungswagen leicht nach

vorne stoßen, dass dieser einige

des Führungswagens lockern

Bei Abweichung der Laufrichtung nach

links

N Aufnahme (2) um wenige Millimeter

nach links schwenken und die

beiden Muttern wieder festziehen

Bei Abweichung der Laufrichtung nach

rechts

N Aufnahme (2) um wenige Millimeter

nach rechts schwenken und die

beiden Muttern wieder festziehen

N Prüfung der Laufrichtung

wiederholen und Einstellvorgang

erneut vornehmen, bis die

Laufrichtung stimmt.

Zur Korrektur einer Abweichung der

Laufrichtung genügt meist eine

geringfügige Verstellung.

Schnitte dicht entlang von Bordsteinen

Für Schnitte dicht entlang von

Bordsteinen kann durch Ummontage

des rechten Rades von aussen nach

innen das Ummontieren des

Trennschleifscheiben-Anbaus auf

"Außenanbau" gespart werden.

N Schraube (1) lösen und Rad mit

Achse aus dem Lager im Rahmen

nehmen, an der Innenseite wieder

einstecken und mit der Schraube

befestigen

Bordsteine durchtrennen

Zum Durchtrennen von Bordsteinen

kann das vordere Rad in einer weiter

zurückliegenden Position montiert

werden.

N Mutter (1) abdrehen und mit

Scheibe (2) abnehmen

N Rad (3) abziehen

N Achse des Rades (3) in die hintere

Bohrung stecken

N Scheibe (2) aufstecken, Mutter (1)

A basic machine and an attachment kit

are combined to produce a complete

cart FW 20.

The complete instruction manual for the

cart FW 20 therefore consists of two

instruction manuals – one for the basic

machine FW 20 and one for the

attachment kit FW-TS.

Always read both instruction manuals

carefully before using your machine for

the first time and keep them safe for

future reference.

Additionally, observe the instruction

manual of the cut-off machine used.

Observe the national safety regulations

issued, e. g. by the employers' liability

insurance association, social security

institutions, occupational safety and

health authorities or other organizations.

The cut-off machine and FW 20 should

only be supplied or lent to people

familiar with this model and its operation.

The instruction manual should always

be issued with the machine.

If you have never used a cut-off machine

and cart before: have your STIHL dealer

or other specialist show you how to

operate the machine – or attend one of

the special training courses.

WARNING

Minors should never be allowed to use

the cut-off machine and the FW 20.

Bystanders, especially children, and

animals should not be allowed in the

area! Never leave the cut-off machine

unattended while in operation.

WARNING

Never attempt to modify the machine in

any way since this may increase the risk

of personal injury. STIHL excludes all

liability for personal injury and damage

to property caused while using

unauthorized attachments. Even if

certain attachments which have not

been approved can be used on the cut-

off machine and FW 20, their use may

prove extremely dangerous.

Mounting the cut-off machine

WARNING

Only the corresponding attachment kit

may be used to mount the cut-off

machine on the FW 20. Other cut-off

machines must not be mounted – risk of

accidents due to the abrasive wheel

shattering following a loss of control!

The corresponding sections in the

instruction manuals must be observed

when assembling the machine and cart.

Before and after mounting, the FW 20

and the cut-off machine must be

checked to ensure they are in safe

working order. Check correct operation

of the operating elements (e. g. throttle

control, depth limiter) – note the

corresponding chapters in the

instruction manuals.

Refueling

The FW 20 be parked securely so that it

cannot tip over or roll away when

refueling the cut-off machine mounted

on the FW 20.

During Operation

Clear all obstacles from the cutting path,

as they may cause the abrasive wheel to

jam. This in turn may result in high

friction forces reducing the engine power

available for cutting. The FW 20 may

only be used to produce linear cuts.

WARNING

Do not work on uneven surfaces when

using a cut-off machine mounted on the

FW 20 – the FW 20 could tip over and

cause the abrasive wheel to shatter –

risk of injury!

Safety Precautions

Special safety precau-

tions must be taken when

working with the FW 20 in

combination with a cut-off

machine.

It is important that you

read, fully understand

and observe the following

safety precautions and

warnings. Read the

instruction manuals and

safety instructions for the

cut-off machine and

FW 20 through again

from time to time. Care-

less or improper use of a

power tool can lead to

serious or even fatal

injuries.

Gasoline is an extremely

flammable fuel! If spilled

or ignited by a spark or

other ignition source, it

can cause fire and seri-

ous burn injury or

property damage. Use

extreme caution when

handling gasoline or fuel

mix. Keep away from

naked lights. No smok-

ing. Refueling is

described in the instruc-

tion manual for the cut-off

machine.

If the FW 20 is pushed over objects, the

abrasive wheel may become wedged in

the cut and shatter! Ensure that the

working area is clear.

WARNING

Use of the machine may produce dust,

mist and fumes which may contain

chemical substances which are known

to cause serious injury or illness. Control

dust, mist and fumes at the source

where possible. A water attachment is

available for the FW 20 and cut-off

machine and should be used to bind the

dust if wet cutting is possible. If it is not

possible to avoid inhaling poisonous

dust, mist and fumes, the user and all

bystanders should always wear

respiratory protection approved by

NIOSH / MSHA for the material to be

cut. Note the safety instructions

concerning dust, mists and fumes in the

instruction manual for the cut-off

machine.

Moving cart into working position

N Turn star handle (1)

counterclockwise

N Move guide tube (2) to working

position (A)

N Tighten star handle (1) down in

clockwise direction

N Steady the guide tube

N Move the lever (3) for cutting depth

adjustment to position (A) - the

cutting depth adjustment is released

N Push down the guide tube in the

direction of the arrow until the

wheel (4) hovers above the ground

with the swivel arm

N Hold the cart in this position

N Move the lever (3) for cutting depth

adjustment to position (B) - the

cutting depth adjustment is

engaged

N Relieve the guide tube - the wheel of

the swivel arm rests on the ground

Mounting the limit stop

N Position limit stop (1) on cut-off

machine cart – the holes must line

up

N Screw in and tighten bolts (2) with

washer (3) on

Cutting depth adjustment

N The cutting depth adjustment is

actuated via the lever (1)

For setting the required cutting depth

and entering the cut.

For fixing the set cutting depth and

working with a uniform cutting depth.

Release with combination wrench

If the cutting depth adjustment cannot be

released via the lever on the guide tube,

it can still be released with the

combination wrench.

WARNING

Always switch off the engine before

unlocking with a combination wrench –

do not touch the hot muffler.

N Insert the combination wrench (2) in

the hole (3) and press down in the

direction of the arrow

Setting the limit stop

N Unscrew lock nut (1) and unscrew

bolt (2) to maximum position

Use the cutting depth adjustment to set

the desired maximum cutting depth.

N Screw in the bolt (2) until it rests

against the swivel arm (3) and

secure with lock nut (1)

Each time it is lowered with the cutting

depth adjustment against the limit stop,

the same cutting depth is attained.

Throttle control

Start engine, refer to the chapter

"Starting / stopping the engine" in the

Instruction Manual for the cut-off

machine.

The throttle is not actuated via the

handle on the cut-off machine, but via

the throttle control on the guide tube.

N Press and hold the trigger switch

lockout (1)

N Pull the throttle control (2) until it

contacts the guide tube - full throttle

position

The speed of the cut-off machine

depends on the distance between

throttle control and guide tube.

When the throttle control is released

completely (no-load setting), the trigger

switch lockout must be pressed again

before the throttle control can be

actuated.

N Push the guide tube down and

unlock the depth limiter

N Slowly lower the cart until the

abrasive wheel touches the ground

N Carefully lift the wheel of the swivel

arm so that the abrasive wheel and

rear wheels touch the ground

(diagram)

N Lock the depth limiter in place

N Line up the abrasive wheel and cart

on a straight line (marked) and

gently push off the cart so that it rolls

freely for a few meters

N Slacken the two nuts (1) on the

underside of the cart

If the direction deviates to the left

N Swing the support (2) a few

millimeters to the left and retighten

the two nuts

If the direction deviates to the right

N Swing the support (2) a few

millimeters to the right and retighten

N Check the direction again and

repeat the adjustment until it is

correct.

A minor adjustment is usually all that is

needed to correct any deviation in

direction.

Cutting close to kerb stones

When cutting close to kerb stones, the

right-hand wheel can be relocated from

outboard to inboard position, thus

making it unnecessary to change the

abrasive wheel to the "outboard"

position.

N Remove the screw (1) and take the

wheel with axle out of the bearing in

the frame, then refit it on the inboard

side and secure it with the screw.

Cutting kerb stones

For cutting kerb stones, the front wheel

can be mounted in a position further to

the rear.

N Unscrew nut (1) and remove with

washer (2)

N Remove wheel (3)

N Insert axle of wheel (3) in the rear

hole

N Slide on washer (2), screw on and

tighten nut (1)
