Battery Installation for the Remote Control

1. Press and lift the back cover to open the battery compartment of the remote control.

2. Insert two AAA size batteries. Make sure to match the (+) and (–) ends of the batteries

with the (+) and (–) ends indicated in the battery compartment.

3. Close the battery compartment cover.

Handling the Remote Control

• Take care of your ﬁngernails when you press and hold the battery release tab.

• Do not drop or cause impact to the remote control.

• Do not spill water or any liquid on the remote control.

• Do not place the remote control on a wet object.

• Do not place the remote control under direct sunlight or near sources of excessive heat.

• Remove the battery from the remote control when not in use for a long period of time,

as it could cause corrosion or battery leakage and may result in physical injury and/or

property damage including ﬁre.

Handling the Battery

• Improper or incorrect use of batteries may cause corrosion or battery leakage, which

could cause ﬁre, personal injury or damage to property.

• Install the battery correctly by following the polarity (+ and –) indications in the battery

compartment.

• When the battery is exhausted, the remote control will not function.

• Only use the battery type indicated in this manual.

• Do not dispose of the used battery as domestic waste. Dispose of it in accordance with

the local regulations.

Point the remote control at the unit no more than 3

metres from the remote control sensor and within

40° of the front of the unit. The operating distance

may vary depending on the brightness of the

room.

Mains Power

• This unit is designed to operate with an AC 100-240V ~50/60Hz power.

• Unwind the mains cable to its full length. Connect the mains plug to the mains socket.

Make sure the mains plug is ﬁrmly inserted into the mains socket. The unit is now

connected and ready to use.

• To switch the unit oﬀ completely, withdraw the mains plug from the mains socket.

Playing Music from a USB Device

• The ﬁle extensions has to be .jpg and not .jpeg

• Pictures encoding must comply with JPEG format.

Region Code

Both the DVD Player and the discs are coded by

region. These regional codes must match in order to

play the disc. If the codes do not match, the disc will

not play.

The Region Number for this DVD Player is described

on the rear of the DVD Player.

Some recorded ﬁles may not be able to be played due to the type and

format of disc or condition of the recording.

Powering ON/OFF

Connect the mains cable to the mains socket. The unit will enter STANDBY mode. “OFF” will

show on the display.

• Press the POWER

button on the unit or the remote control to switch the unit on.

“LOAD” will show on the display

• Press the POWER

button on the unit or the remote control to switch the unit back to

STANDBY mode. “OFF” will show on the display.

• Disconnect the mains cable from the mains socket if you want to switch the unit oﬀ

completely.

DVD Playback

Loading a disc

1. Press the OPEN/CLOSE button to open the disc tray, place a disc into the disc tray

with the label facing up.

• For a double-sided disc, load the side which you want to play facing down.

• There are two diﬀerent disc sizes. Place the disc in the correct guide on the disc tray.

If the disc is out of the guide, it may damage the disc and cause the DVD player to

malfunction.

• Do not place a disc which is unplayable in this DVD player.

2. Press the OPEN/CLOSE

button to close the disc tray, the playback will automatically

start.

• Some discs may not playback automatically, you can press the PLAY/PAUSE

button to start playback.

3. Depending on the disc, a menu may appear on the TV screen by pressing and holding

the ZOOM/MENU button on the remote control. Press the

buttons on the

remote control to select menu options and press the OK button on the remote control

to start, or press digits to select a menu options directly.

“ Not allowed at the moment” may appear on the TV screen during operation. It means that the

operation is not permitted by the DVD Player or the disc.

The DVD Player will switch to screen saver mode after being idle for sometime. Press any button to exit

the screen saver.

Setup

Press the SETUP button on the remote control to display the setup menu.

Pause Playback

1. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to pause playback (still mode). The sound will be

muted during still mode.

2. Press the PLAY/PAUSE

button again to resume normal playback.

Stop Playback

1. Press the STOP button on the remote control to go to pre-stop mode, the TV screen

will display “ Stop”. With some discs, the DVD player can recall the stopped location,

such as on DVDs.

2. Press the PLAY/PAUSE

button to resume playback from the location where

playback was stopped or from the beginning of the disc.

3. Press the STOP

button on the remote control twice to stop completely.

Volume Adjustment

1. Press the VOL+/– buttons on the remote control to adjust the volume.

2. Press the MUTE button on the remote control to switch the sound oﬀ, the “

” icon will

show on the TV screen. Press the MUTE button on the remote control again or the

VOL+/– buttons on the remote control to cancel this function.

Previous and Next

3. During playing, press the button on the remote control to go back to the start of

the previous chapter. Each press of this button will skip a chapter until the start of the

disc.

4. Each press of the

button on the remote control during playing will skip the current

chapter and play the next one.

Fast Forward and Fast Reverse

1. Press the buttons on the remote control to fast reverse / fast forward through

the disc. Each time the buttons on the remote control are pressed, the fast

reverse / fast forward motion speed changes. There are 4 levels of speed available: x2,

x4, x8 and x16.

2. Press the PLAY/PAUSE

button to resume normal playback.

While playing the disc, press and hold the ZOOM/MENU button on the remote control to

go to main menu if the function is available in the disc.

Title

With some DVD discs, press and hold the SUBTITLE/TITLE button on the remote control

to display the title menu. You can press the Number 0-9 buttons or the buttons to

select the chapters preferred. Press the OK button to play. (Depending on the DVDs)

Audio Channel

Press the AUDIO/ANGLE button on the remote control repeatedly to select diﬀerent audio

languages.

Subtitle Language

Press the SUBTITLE/TITLE button on the remote control repeatedly to switch between

diﬀerent subtitle languages that are available in the disc.

Goto

During playing, press the GOTO button on the remote control to bring up “search” window.

Display

During playing, press the DISPLAY button on the remote control to show the Disc Format /

Time / Title / Chapter / Audio / Subtitle / Angle / Bitrate.

Zoom

1. Press the ZOOM/MENU button on the remote control repeatedly to cycle through all

the zoom levels. You can enlarge the screen to 1x 1, 2x 2, 3x 3, normal size.

2. To resume normal viewing, press the ZOOM/MENU button on the remote control until

the

Oﬀ indicator appear shows on display.

Repeat

Press the REPEAT/PROG button on the remote control repeatedly to select diﬀerent repeat

modes.

This function can play a speciﬁc portion of a title/track/chapter repeatedly.

1. During playing, press the REPEAT/PROG button on the remote control repeatedly at a

starting point until “Rep A-” shows on display.

2. When the disc reaches where you want to end, press the REPEAT/PROG button on

Angle Selection

Some DVDs contain scenes which have been shot from a number of diﬀerent angles. For

these discs, the same scene can be viewed from each of these diﬀerent angles.

1. While you are playing a DVD with diﬀerent angles recorded, press and hold the

AUDIO/ANGLE button on the remote control to view the number of current angles

available.

2. Press and hold the AUDIO/ANGLE button on the remote control repeatedly to change

the scene to the next recorded angle.

• After approximately 2 seconds, playback will continue from the new angle you

selected.

• If no button is pressed within 10 seconds, playback continues without changing the

current angle.

• This function can only be used for discs on which scenes shot from

multiple angles have been recorded.

• If only one angle is recorded,

1/1 is displayed.

CD/MP3/WMA/JPEG Disc Operation

Playing an Audio or a JPEG Picture on a Disc

1. While in ON mode, press the OPEN/CLOSE button and the disc door will open.

2. Place the CD/MP3/WMA/JPEG disc with the label side up into the CD compartment,

and then press the OPEN/CLOSE

button to close the disc door.

3. Insert an audio CD, playback will start automatically;

Insert a MP3/WMA/JPEG disc, File Browser Menu will show on the display.

• This unit can play CD, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3, WMA, JPEG discs.

4. Press the

buttons on the remote control to select a track/photo, or press the

Number 0-9 buttons on the remote control to select track/photo number. Press the

OK button on the remote control to start playback/slideshow.

Playing an Audio or a JPEG Picture with USB Device

1. While in STOP mode, connect a USB device to the USB port directly.

2. Press the unit on and press the SOURCE button on the remote control to display a

menu. Press the

buttons on the remote control to select “ USB”, and then press

the OK button on the remote control to conﬁrm the selection.

3. The unit will search for all available MP3/WMA/JPEG ﬁles, File Browser Menu will show

on the display.

4. Press the

buttons on the remote control to select a track/photo, or press the

Number 0-9 buttons on the remote control to select track/photo number. Press the

OK button on the remote control to start playback/slideshow.

• The unit can only playback MP3 and WMA ﬁle formats in USB operation.

• This unit supports USB 1.1 and 2.0 versions.

• The unit can support USB devices with up to 32GB of memory.

• The unit cannot play WMA ﬁles with protection by “DRM”.

• The unit may not be compatible with all USB devices. This is not an indication of a problem with the

unit.

• If the unit cannot read your USB device, try formatting the device on a PC after backing up your ﬁles.

Pause Playback

Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to pause/resume playback.

Stop Playback

1. Press the STOP button on the remote control to go to pre-stop mode, the TV screen

will display “ Stop”. With some discs, the DVD player can recall the stopped location,

such as on DVDs.

2. Press the PLAY/PAUSE

button to resume playback from the location where

playback was stopped or from the beginning of the disc.

3. Press the STOP

button on the remote control twice to stop completely.

Volume Adjustment

1. Press the VOL+/– buttons on the remote control to adjust the volume.

2. Press the MUTE button on the remote control to switch the sound oﬀ, the “

” icon

will show on the display. Press the MUTE button on the remote control again or the

VOL+/– buttons on the remote control to cancel this function.

Previous and Next

Press the buttons on the remote control to playback the previous/next track or

photo.

Fast Forward and Fast Reverse

1. Press the buttons on the remote control to fast reverse / fast forward through

the disc. Each time the buttons on the remote control is pressed, the fast

reverse / fast forward motion speed changes. There are 4 levels of speed available: x2,

x4, x8 and x16.

2. Press the PLAY/PAUSE

button to resume normal playback.

Zoom

1. While in slideshow, press the ZOOM/MENU button on the remote control repeatedly

to cycle through all the zoom levels. You can enlarge the screen to 1x 1, 2x 2,

3x 3, normal size.

2. Press the

buttons on the remote control to navigate around the photo in a

direction of your choice.

3. The slideshow will continue while in ZOOM mode, unless the PLAY/PAUSE

button

has been pressed. To resume normal viewing, press the ZOOM/MENU button on the

remote control repeatedly until the Oﬀ indicator appear shows on display.

The Playback Navigator and Settings

1. In stop mode, press the buttons on the remote control to enter the right screen of

playback setting of the navigator.

2. Press the

buttons on the remote control to select the items. Always conﬁrm by

pressing the OK button on the remote control.

• For Filter setting, press the OK button on the remote control to bring up the drop-

down menu, and press the

buttons on the remote control to select an option,

then press the OK button on the remote control.

Adding ﬁles to the Program List

1. In full stop mode, press the button on the remote control to enter the right screen of

playback setting of the navigator.

2. Press the

buttons on the remote control to select Edit mode, then press the OK

button on the remote control to highlight the Edit mode.

• To leave the Edit mode, press the OK button on the remote control again to cancel

the highlight.

3. Press the

button on the remote control to skip to the left screen. Press the

buttons on the remote control to select a ﬁle in the preview list, then press the OK

button on the remote control to tick the ﬁle.

• Press the OK button on the remote control again to cancel the tick.

• Press the

buttons on the remote control to select another ﬁle and press the OK

button on the remote control repeatedly to tick more ﬁles.

4. Press the

button on the remote control to skip to the right screen, then press the

buttons on the remote control to select Add to program and then press the OK

button on the remote control to conﬁrm. Now the ticked ﬁles have been programmed

in the Browser view, you can press the buttons on the remote control to select

Program view and then press the OK button on the remote control to view the ticked

ﬁles.

5. Press the

buttons on the remote control to select Edit mode, then press the OK

button on the remote control to leave the Edit mode.

6. Press the

button on the remote control to skip to the left screen. Then press the

buttons on the remote control to select a ﬁle you want to play from the Preview list.

7. Press the OK button on the remote control to play the ﬁle.
