burning liquid gas produces carbon monoxide

which accumulates inside enclosed areas.

Safety precautions when handling

liquid gas containers

• After use always disconnect the liquid gas

container.

• Store liquid gas containers away from heating or

cooking appliances and other light or heat

sources in a well-ventilated area out of the reach

of children.

• Never store liquid gas containers in unventi-

lated areas or below ground level (funnel-

shaped holes in the ground).

• Never store liquid gas containers in buildings

such as garages.

• Do not store liquid gas containers on their side.

• Keep liquid gas containers away from direct sun-

light. The temperature should not exceed

50 °C.

Intended use

The water heater is suitable for:

• supply of heated water for washing up, cleaning

and showering outdoors

The water heater is not suitable for:

• supply of drinking water

• use as a cooking appliance

• operation in enclosed buildings, tents or awning

tents

• operation on caravans, mobile homes or boats

• wind speeds > 10 kph

This product is only suitable for the intended pur-

pose and application in accordance with these

instructions.

This manual provides information that is necessary

for proper installation and/or operation of the

product. Poor installation and/or improper operat-

ing or maintenance will result in unsatisfactory per-

formance and a possible failure.

The manufacturer accepts no liability for any injury

or damage to the product resulting from:

• Incorrect assembly or connection, including

excess voltage

• Incorrect maintenance or use of spare parts

other than original spare parts provided by the

manufacturer

• Alterations to the product without express per-

mission from the manufacturer

• Use for purposes other than those described in

this manual

Kampa reserves the right to change product

appearance and product specifications.

Tec hnical d escriptio n

This water heater is designed to raise the outlet

water temperature by an average of 25 °C above

the source water temperature. Temperature can

be adjusted using the temperature control knob.

The water flow can be adjusted using the water

flow regulation switch.

The appliance can be moved by a carrying handle.

A carry bag allows for easy transport.

Safety features

Over-temperature sensor

The appliance will not allow the burner to remain in

operation once the outlet water temperature

reaches 75 °C. The burner will automatically

relight once the outlet temperature falls below

75 °C.

Water flow sensor

Water must be flowing through the system to allow

the burner to ignite. In case the water supply is

restricted or ceases, i.e. the shower head switch is

in the “OFF” position, the burner will be extin-

guished and will not relight until the water flow

recommences.

Tilt switch

In the event that the appliance is moved during

operation the appliance will shut down and must

be switched off until a suitable surface is located.

Setting up the water heater

!

1. Place the appliance on a surface that meets the

above requirements.

2. Straighten out all hoses to make sure no kinks

or twists remain.

3. Attach the 12 V DC cable of the water pump

and the water hose to the appliance (see

fig. 3, page 4).

4. Attach the gas hose to the appliance (see

fig. 5, page 4).

5. Attach the other end of the gas hose to the gas

regulator (see fig. 6, page 5).

6. Connect the gas regulator to the gas cylinder

following the manufacturers instruction.

7. Check that all connections are tight.

8. Turn on the gas regulator.

9. Check all connections for gas leaks:

– Coat all connections, using soapy water.

– If bubbles appear, immediately turn off the

gas regulator and re-tighten the connection

before re-testing.

– If bubbles appear again, do not continue to

use the appliance. Contact an authorized ser-

vice agent.

10. If no leaks are detected, turn the regulator

valve to the “OFF” position.

11. Swing the water outlet tap away from its stor-

age position to the side of the appliance (see

fig. 4 1., page 4).

For use of the shower head:

Attach the shower head and hose assembly to

the appliance (see fig. 4 2., page 4).

12. Check that the power switch at the rear of the

appliance is in the “OFF” position. Connect

the 12 V DC cable to the appliance and then

connect the 12 V plug to a suitable DC power

source (see fig. 7, page 6).

Using the water heater

Requirements for operation

The following equipment is not supplied and must

be provided by the user:

• Butane or propane gas cylinder

• Gas regulator (supply pressure: see chapter

“Technical data” on page 17)

• Gas hose (length: max. 1.5 m)

• 12 V DC supply (e.g. by a vehicle, mains adapter

or battery pack)

• Clean water supply

Gas regulator and gas hose have to be CE

approved and fulfill the national safety require-

ments. In case of questions, contact your retailer or

gas supplier.

WARNING! Fire hazard

The location for setting up the water

heater has to meet the following require-

ments:

• outdoors only

• open, well-ventilated area which is

protected from direct winds

• placing surface for the water heater

– out of heat-proof, non-combustible

or non-flammable materials

– standing level on or above the

ground

• solid, stable and flat level

WARNING! Explosion hazard

Do not try to detect gas leaks using a

flame or a pilot light.

WARNING! Fire hazard

• Make sure that all air inlets and

exhausts are kept free from obstruction

and closure.

• The appliance must be operated no

closer than 800 mm to the sides and

800 mm above all combustible sur-

faces, fabrics, flammable materials and

persons.

CAUTION! Health hazard

Do not use water direct from rivers, lakes

or the sea as inlet water.

NOTE

The heater will extinguish if used in a

wind speed above 10 kph.

1. Submerge the pump in a suitable reservoir of

clean water (see fig. 8, page 6).

2. Move the water outlet tap (fig. 2 6, page 3)

in the desired position.

3. Place a suitable water container under the

water outlet tap.

4. Ensure that the water flow regulation switch

(fig. 2 11, page 3) is in the “open” position.

5. For use of the shower head:

Move the shower head in the desired position.

Ensure that the water flow regulation switch

(fig. 2 11, page 3) is in the “open” position.

Slide the shower head switch to the “ON”

position (fig. 9, page 6).

6. Check that all connections are tight.

7. Turn the gas regulator valve on.

8. Turn the power switch (fig. 2 10, page 3) to

the “ON” position.

✔ Water should start to flow from the shower head

or water outlet tap within 20 seconds, then the

electronic ignition should be heard igniting the

burner.

9. Make sure the burner flame is operating by

watching through the burner viewing window

(fig. 2 4, page 3) on the appliance.

10. If necessary, adjust the water temperature by

turning the temperature control knob

(fig. 2 2, page 3) from the minimum to maxi-

mum heat position to reach the desired heat

level.

11. In the event that the temperature lift is insuffi-

cient, simply run water through the appliance

once, returning the heated water to the source

water reservoir, then run again through the

appliance until the desired temperature is

reached.

Stopping the water flow

➤Close the water flow regulation switch

(fig. 2 11page 3).

For use of the shower head:

➤Stop the water flow by sliding the shower head

switch to the “OFF” position (fig. 0, page 6)

and by closing the water flow regulation switch

(fig. 2 11page 3).

Continuing the water flow

!

➤Open the water flow regulation switch

(fig. 2 11, page 3).

➤For use of the shower head:

Slide the shower head switch to the “ON” posi-

tion (fig. 0, page 6)

✔ Water will commence to flow and the burner will

reignite within 5 seconds.

Switching off

1. Stop the water flow (see chapter “Stopping

the water flow” on page 14).

2. Turn the power switch (fig. 2 10, page 3) to

the “OFF” position.

3. Turn off the gas supply at the gas cylinder after

use.

Disconnecting the water heater from

the gas cylinder

1. Check that the appliance is fully extinguished,

the gas regulator is in the “OFF” position and

all surfaces are cool.

2. Follow the instructions of the gas regulator

manufacturer to disconnect the gas regulator

from the gas cylinder.

NOTICE!

Make sure to move the shower head

away from the water heater so that no

water gets spilled onto the appliance.

CAUTION! Burn hazard

Check the water temperature before

using the water. The outlet water can

reach temperatures of 75 °C.

CAUTION! Burn hazard

Water remaining in the heater exchanger

while the flow is stopped may become

hot. Check the water temperature before

using the water.

Cleaning and maintenance

A

➤Occasionally clean the appliance exterior with a

mild detergent and a damp cloth.

Storing the water heater

1. With the appliance operating, turn the gas

regulator off.

✔ The burner will continue to operate until all gas

has bled from the gas hose and gas regulator

assembly.

2. Turn the power switch (fig. 2 10, page 3) to

the “OFF” position.

3. Disconnect the water pump from the appli-

ance (see fig. a, page 7 and fig. b, page 7).

4. Disconnect the shower head and water hose

from the water outlet (see fig. c, page 7 and

fig. d, page 7).

5. Disconnect the 12 V DC cable (see fig. e,

page 8).

6. Disconnect the gas hose from the appliance

(see fig. f, page 8).

7. Disconnect the gas hose from the gas regula-

tor (see fig. g, page 9).

8. Follow the instructions of the gas regulator

manufacturer to disconnect the gas regulator

from the gas cylinder.

9. Leave the appliance to cool down properly.

10. Store the appliance and its parts in the carry

bag.

11. Place the carry bag in a dry and well ventilated

area free from direct sunlight, heat and ignition

sources.

NOTICE!

• Never clean the appliance under run-

ning water or in dish water.

• Do not allow water to enter the burner

outlets, mantle or aeration holes

located in the base of the burner tube.

• Do not use sharp or hard objects, abra-

sive cleaning agents or bleach during

cleaning as these can damage the

appliance.

Troubleshooting

Warranty

The statutory warranty period applies. If the

product is defective, please contact the

manufacturer's branch in your country (see

kampaoutdoors.com/store-locator) or your

retailer.

For repair and warranty processing, please include

the following documents when you send in the

device:

• A copy of the receipt with purchase date

• A reason for the claim or description of the fault

Disposal

➤Place the packaging material in the appropriate

recycling waste bins, wherever possible.

If you wish to finally dispose of the product,

ask your local recycling center or specialist

dealer for details about how to do this in

accordance with the applicable disposal

regulations.

Fault Possible cause Solution

Water will not flow from

shower head.

The appliance is switched off. Switch on the appliance.

Water supply is insufficient. Provide sufficient water supply.

The water pump is not connected to the

appliance.

Connect the water pump to the appliance.

DC power supply is not adequate. Provide adequate DC power supply.

The shower head switch is in “OFF”

position.

Turn the shower head switch to “ON”

position.

Burner will not light. Water is not flowing from the shower head. Turn the shower head switch to “ON”

position.

The inlet water is over +50 °C warm. Let the inlet water cool down below

+50 °C.

The gas cylinder is turned off. Turn the gas cylinder on.

There is no gas in the gas cylinder. Exchange the gas cylinder.

Water is not hot enough. The inlet water is too cold. The appliance

can raise the water temperature by approx.

25 °C.

Recirculate the water until desired

temperature is reached.

The over-temperature safety appliance has

been triggered.

Let the system cool down until the over

temperature safety switch opens.

men. Bei der Verbrennung von Flüssiggas ent-

steht Kohlenmonoxid, das sich in

geschlossenen Räumen ansammelt.

• Nur im Freien verwenden.

• Dieses Gerät darf nur oberirdisch im Freien ver-

wendet werden, wo eine natürliche Belüftung

ohne Bereiche mit stehender Luft sichergestellt

ist und austretendes Gas und Verbrennungspro-

dukte durch Wind und natürliche Konvektion

schnell verteilt werden.

• Verwenden Sie das Gerät nicht, wenn es undicht

oder beschädigt ist oder nicht ordnungsgemäß

funktioniert.

• Überprüfen Sie, ob die Dichtungen zwischen

dem Gerät und der Gasflasche vorhanden und

in gutem Zustand sind, bevor Sie die Gasflasche

anschließen.

• Lagern Sie Flüssiggasbehälter entfernt von Heiz-

oder Kochgeräten und anderen Licht- oder Wär-

mequellen in einem gut belüfteten Bereich,

außerhalb der Reichweite von Kindern.

• Lagern Sie Flüssiggasbehälter niemals an unbe-

lüfteten Plätzen oder unterhalb Bodenniveau

(trichterförmige Erdmulden).

• Lagern Sie Flüssiggasbehälter niemals in

Gebäuden wie z. B. Garagen.

• Lagern Sie Flüssiggasbehälter nicht auf der Seite

liegend.

• die Bereitstellung von erwärmtem Wasser zum

Abspülen, Reinigen und Duschen im Freien

Der Warmwasserbereiter ist nicht für folgende

Verwendungszwecke geeignet:

• die Versorgung mit Trinkwasser

• den Einsatz als Kochgerät

• den Betrieb in geschlossenen Gebäuden, Zel-

ten oder Vorzelten

• den Betrieb in Wohnwagen, in Wohnmobilen

oder auf Booten

• Windgeschwindigkeiten > 10 km/h

Dieses Produkt ist nur für den angegebenen Ver-

wendungszweck und die Anwendung gemäß die-

ser Anleitung geeignet.

Dieses Handbuch enthält Informationen, die für

die ordnungsgemäße Installation und/oder den

ordnungsgemäßen Betrieb des Produkts erforder-

lich sind. Installationsfehler und/oder ein nicht

ordnungsgemäßer Betrieb oder eine nicht ord-

nungsgemäße Wartung haben eine unzurei-

Technische Beschreibung

Dieser Warmwasserbereiter ist so ausgelegt, dass

die Wasserauslasstemperatur um durchschnittlich

25 °C höher als die Wasserzufuhrtemperatur ist.

Die Temperatur kann mit Hilfe des Temperaturreg-

lers eingestellt werden. Der Wasserdurchfluss

kann mit dem Schalter für die Wasserdurchflussre-

gelung eingestellt werden.

Das Gerät kann mit einem Tragegriff bewegt

werden.

Eine Tragetasche ermöglicht einen einfachen

Transport.

Sicherheitsmerkmale

Übertemperatursensor

Das Gerät schaltet den Brenner aus, sobald die

Wassertemperatur am Auslass 75 °C erreicht. Der

Brenner zündet automatisch wieder, wenn die

Auslasstemperatur unter 75 °C fällt.
