Description of this Thermometer
Important Safety Instructions
• The instrument may be used only for measuring body temperature!
• The minimum measurement time until the beep is heard must be
maintained without exception!
• Ensure that children do not use the instrument unsupervised; some
parts are small enough to be swallowed.
• Protect the instrument from impact and dropping!
•
Avoid ambient temperatures above 60 °C. NEVER boil the instrument!
• Use only the commercial disinfectants listed in the section «Cleaning
and Disinfecting» to clean the instrument.
• We recommend this instrument is tested for accuracy every two
years or after mechanical impact (e.g. being dropped). Please
contact Microlife-Service to arrange the test.
Batteries and electronic devices must be disposed of in
accordance with the locally applicable regulations, not with
domestic waste.

Type BF applied part
Turning on the Thermometer
To turn on the thermometer, press the ON/OFF button 1; a short
beep signals «thermometer ON». A display test is performed. All
segments should be displayed.
Then at an ambient temperature of less than 32 °C, an «L» and a
flashing «°C» appear at the display field 2. The thermometer is now
ready for use.
Function Test
Correct functioning of the thermometer is tested automatically each
time it is turned on. If a malfunction is detected (measurement inaccu-
racy), this is indicated by «ERR» on the display, and a measurement
becomes impossible. In this case, the thermometer must be replaced.
Using the Thermometer
Choose the preferred measuring method. When taking a measure-
ment, the current temperature is continuously displayed and the «°C»
symbol flashes. If the beep is heard 10 times and the «°C» is no longer
flashing, this means that the measured increase in temperature is less
than 0.1 °C in 16 seconds and that the thermometer can now be read.
To prolong the battery life, turn off the thermometer by briefly pressing
the ON/OFF button 1. Otherwise the thermometer will automatically
turn off after about 10 minutes.
Storage of Measured Values
If the ON/OFF button 1 is pressed for more than 3 seconds when
turning on the thermometer, the automatically stored maximum
temperature during the last measurement will be displayed. At the
same time, a «M» for memory will appear on the display. About
2 seconds after the button is released, the temperature value disap-
pears and the thermometer is ready for measurement.
Measuring methods / Normal body temperature

In the mouth (oral) / 35.5 - 37.5 °C
Position the thermometer in one of the two pockets under the tongue,
to the left or right of the root of the tongue. The measuring sensor

must be in good contact with the tissue. Close your mouth and breathe
evenly through the nose to prevent the measurement from being influ-
enced by inhaled/ exhaled air.
Approx. measuring time: 1 minute!

In the anus (rectal) / 36.6 - 38.0 °C
This is the most reliable measuring method, and is especially suit-
able for infants and small children. Carefully insert the measuring
sensor 4 of the thermometer 2 to 3 cm into the anal aperture.

In the armpit (axillary) / 34.7 - 37.3 °C
To receive more reliable results we recommend measuring temper-
ature orally or rectally. A minimum measurement time of 3-5 minutes
is recommended.
Cleaning and Disinfecting
Use an alcohol swab or cotton tissue moistened with alcohol (70%
Isopropyl) to clean the thermometer.
Please never immerse into liquids!
Battery Replacement
When the «T» symbol (upside-down triangle) appears at the display
field, the battery is flat and needs replacing. To replace the battery
remove the battery compartment cover 3 from the thermometer.
Insert the new battery with the + at the top. Make sure you have a
battery of the same type to hand. Batteries can be purchased at any
electrical store.

Popis teplomeru
Dôležité bezpečnostné pokyny
• Výrobok je možné použiť len na meranie telesnej teploty!
• Vždy je nutné dodržať minimálny čas merania, kým sa neozve
pípnutie!
• Deti nesmú teplomer používať bez dozoru; niektoré dielce sú tak
malé, že hrozí prehltnutie.
• Výrobok chráňte pred pádmi a nárazmi!
•
Výrobok nevystavujte teplotám nad 60 °C. Teplomer NEVYVÁRAJTE!
• Na čistenie výrobku používajte len bežne predávané dezinfekčné
prostriedky uvedené v sekcii «Čistenie a dezinfekcia».
• Odporúčame nechať prekontrolovať presnosť teplomeru raz za dva
roky alebo po mechanickom náraze (napr. páde). Prosím kontaktujte
servisné stredisko Microlife, ktoré môže vykonať kontrolu.
Batérie a elektronické prístroje sa musia likvidovať v súlade
s miestne platnými predpismi, nie s domácim odpadom.

Použité súčasti typu BF
Zapnutie teplomeru
Teplomer zapnete stlačením tlačidla ON/OFF 1 krátke pípnutie
signalizuje, že je «teplomer zapnutý». Prebehne test displeja.
Zobrazia sa všetky segmenty.
Ak je teplota okolia nižšia než 32 °C, na displeji 2 sa objaví «L» a
blikajúce «°C», teplomer je pripravený na použitie.
Funkčná skúška
Správna funkcia teplomeru je automaticky testovaná pri každom
zapnutí. V prípade zistenia poruchy (nepresné meranie), sa na displeji
objaví «ERR» a meranie nie je možné vykonať. V tom prípade je nutné
teplomer vymeniť.
Použitie teplomeru
Zvoľte si obľúbenú metódu merania. Pri použití teplomeru je neustále
aktualizovaný údaj teploty «°C» a bliká symbol. Ak sa ozve 10 pípnutí
a symbol «°C» prestane blikať, znamená to, že zmeraný nárast
teploty je už nižší než 0,1 °C za 16 sekúnd a že je možné odčítať údaj
z displeja.
Životnosť batérie predĺžite, ak teplomer vypnete krátkym stlačením
tlačidla ON/OFF 1. Ak tlačidlo nestlačíte, teplomer sa automaticky
vypne po približne 10 minútach.
Uloženie meraných hodnôt
Ak tlačidlo ON/OFF

pridržíte pri zapnutí stlačené dlhšie než
3 sekundy, automaticky sa zobrazí najvyššia naposledy zmeraná teplota.
Súčasne sa na displeji objaví symbol pamäte
«M»
. Približne 2 sekundy
po uvoľnení tlačidla hodnota teploty zmizne a teplomer je pripravený na
meranie.
Metódy merania / Normálna telesná teplota

V ústach (orálne) / 35,5 - 37,5 °C
Teplomer zasuňte do jednej z dvoch priehlbín pod jazykom, naľavo
alebo napravo od koreňa jazyka. Merací snímač 4 musí mať dobrý
kontakt s tkanivom. Zavrite ústa a rovnomerne dýchajte nosom, aby
meranie nebolo ovplyvnené vdýchnutým/vydýchnutým vzduchom.
Pribl. čas merania: 1 minúta!

V konečníku (rektálne) / 36,6 - 38,0 °C
Najspoľahlivejšia metóda merania, zvlášť vhodná pre dojčatá a malé
deti. Merací snímač 4 opatrne zasuňte 2 až 3 cm do análneho
otvoru.
Pribl. čas merania: 1 minúta!

V podpazušnej jamke (axilárne) / 34,7 - 37,3 °C
Ak chcete získať spoľahlivejšie výsledky, odporúčame vám odmerať
teplotu orálne alebo rektálne. Minimálna odporúčaná doba merania
je 3-5 minút.
Čistenie a dezinfekcia
Na čistenie teplomera používajte alkoholové tampóny alebo bavlnené
vreckovky navlhčené alkoholom (70% Izopropyl).
Nikdy neponárajte do tekutín!
Výmena batérie
Ak sa na displeji objaví symbol «T» (trojuholník stojací na špičke), je
batéria vybitá a je nutné ju vymeniť. Ak chcete batériu vymeniť, 3
odoberte z teplomeru kryt priestoru pre batérie. Vložte novú batériu
značkou + nahor. Vždy majte pripravenú náhradnú batériu rovnakého
typu. Batérie je možné zakúpiť v ľubovoľnom obchode s elektronikou.

Toto zariadenie spĺňa požiadavky Smernice 93/42 EHS o zdravotníc-
kych pomôckach.
Zmena technickej špecifikácie vyhradená.
Záruka
Na teplomer poskytujeme doživotnú záruku. Záruka sa nevzťahuje na
poškodenie spôsobené nesprávnym zaobchádzaním. Batérie a
balenie sú vylúčené zo záruky. Akékoľvek iné nároky založené na
záruke sú týmto vylúčené. Pri uplatnení záruky predložte doklad o
kúpe. Chybný výrobok dobre zabaľte a zašlite Microlife distribútorovi.
